The university asked that fans show up and give encouragement to the new coaching staff and players as they build excitement toward heading the football program in the right direction in 2013. The fans showed up in record numbers. However, the university did a poor job with event. There was a lack of police, parking attendants, concession workers. There was very few porta johns in the outside parking lots. Many fans had to walk over 1 mile to the event just to see empty parking spaces near the stadium. At the game, ticket holders showed up to see other fans sitting in their seats. The food at the concession stands were overpriced for such event. It took some fans over ten minutes to get hotdog/nachos after ordering. The university could have done much more in accomadating fans including trolley to stadium, giveaways, raffles, free drink/hotdog voucher, maybe getting marching band more involved, have a public radio announcer call the game with some excitement, and do some current player interviews and show on big screen with reason for optimism in 2013. This will be my last spring game unless I know for sure more effort is being put into it by the university.
