I expected Platanos and Collard Greens to be more dramatic. I expected more theatrical moments. For example, I thought that this play would have more scenes with furniture/stage setup/sound effects, etc. All I saw were young adult actors/actresses acting out characters with no costumes/special clothing for different scenes, etc. So overall, I thought it was sort of boring...

I loved this play. The players were excellent and brought reality to their parts. Platanos & Collard Greens is an excellent learning tool for young people to understand the intertwined history betweenf African and Latino people. The play entertained, educated and explored a theme that is relevant yet often not discussed.
Great work!

Favorite moment: My favorite moment was when the mother and Anjilita went to the therapist for help. The mother was great and played the part very well. @

I have been trying to see this play for months now. I decided to get tickets when my good friend said she was visiting me. This was one of the first things I planned to do for her while she was here in the NYC. She loved the show and was greateful that I choose this as an outting for her. She said she will definetly remember this experience. I myself am dating a Puerto Rican man and I can relate a little. He has told me some stories himself and this show helped to explain better the reasons behind the different attitudes when the two cultures are in a relationship.

I enjoyed the play. I think all high school & college students should see this play as well as adults. Its a good eye opener. It shows you that we are all the same no matter what culture you are from. We are people having a human experience.

Great Line, Excellent Play, Good Actors,
the Bads: The Theater is kinda Old, and small uncomfortable seats, when the actors are talking the sound should be a lil' louder.
THE ACTORS GET A 5 stars RATING!

It took a very important issue and presented it in a very funny, witty, and powerful way. However, I think that often times what are perceived to be color prejudice are really cultural differences.

I enjoyed this play as I would have enjoyed watching my son's performance in a High School Play I liked to the appeal to youth and the blend of Hip Hop Old and New School. However, what made it seem like a HS play was that the depth of conflict and message was shallow and juvenile at tiumes. What made it seem more a HS play was that the production seemed to not take itself seriously. Management seems oblivious to the annoyance of allowing over a dozen persons to enter as much as 40 minutes late for the show opening and then allowed others to return late after Intermission! Distracting, annoying and totally unnecessary. For this play to not present like a HS play, act like its a real Off Broadway play---at least in presentment, if not content. The young actors remained energetic though, despite a lackluster Sunday crowd participation.

The play was enjoyable but I expected more. It reminded me of a high school play at times but it kept me laughing. Platanos was educating at parts and humorous at others. I think you will honesty enjoy this play but I believe it's for a younger audience, not for standard play goers.

There are a lot of shows that are funny, but none comes close to this one. I was impressed how you used comedy with real issues. Funny, but with political consciousness. All ethnic groups had to walk out of the theatre with a prideful uplifting and a appreciation of their heritage. All the actors were superb, from the lead role to the hystreically funny brother "nah mean". As you well know, I will see it again, along with your new play. Thank You & God Bless
