My wife and I attended the Dallas event in May and it was worth the 6 hour drive from Arkansas to see it! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the actual King Tut sarcophagus and other treasures that I have read about in books all my life! I highly recommend those interested in the Pharoahs and King Tut relics attend this event!

I found the Tut Exhibit in Dallas to be most interesting and worthwhile. The layout of the exhibit was good and the artifacts were truly amazing. The write-ups and audio narratives were very informative. Would definitely recommend seeing.

I saw this on a whim with my mom in New York because we heard that it was never coming back to the states. It kept building up saying keep going on to see King Tut. and when you finally get to the 30+ room, you see the body, ONLY to find that it is not the actual. The actual body has never left Egypt EVER! It tells you that in the tour. The workers can also confirm that. It was awesome to see history and all of the findings--including what the people would preserve the body parts in. I thought it was awesome to see where they placed King Tut's remains and his mother's for that matter. It is totally worth seeing.

worth the money spent on the tickets. it was a once in a lifetime experience. went with my 7yr old and toddler. the 7 yr old enjoyed it almost as much as i did but in the future i would leave the baby home! no strollers were allowed.

I was so excited for my grandchildren to see the King Tut exhibit. We had great memories of 30 yrs ago. We had shared the book from that earlier visit. Imagine my disappointment that it wasn't The Tut Exhibit!
The exhibit was incredible, no doubt about that, with enough gold to dazzle anyone.
Still wished they had been honest about the title.

We were lucky enough to visit Egypt in 2000 and spend time in the Cairo Museum with their full display of all things Tut. It is a shame that these traveling exhibits look better than how the items are displayed in Egypt.

The items that were on display were nothing short of amazing. The incredible detail and fine fine workmanship , we were in awe. We had seen a show on TV that showed and explained the work involved in transporting and setting up the event as it traveled from museum to museum, the people involved do a tremendous job.
** My advice, get the audio tour recorded device, it goes into far more detail than than the printed descriptions by each display.
We went to the exhibit knowing in advance that the Tut wasn't going to be there so it wasn't expected nor disappointing. However, more people should do their homework so they would know what they were going to see. Standing in line for the length of time we did, listening to people complain and complain was the ONLY negative thing we have to say about the event.
My review would have been a full 5 stars had the time in line before entering the actual viewing area been a bit less aggravating. I am patient ... I wish more people were.

This exhibit was very interesting. It was a bit disappointing to find out that they didn't have King Tut's actual Sarcophagus on site, but then I discovered that, apparently due to its fragility, it hasn't traveled outside of Egypt since the 1970's. The rest of the items were fascinating, and it would be a great time for any history buff or fan of Egyptian culture! Highly Recommended!!!

I had seen the exhibit the first time it came into town in 1979. That show was great didn't want to leave.Everyone I knew had raved about the show and it was all anyone could talk about at the time. I was incredibly disapointed with this exhibit, only a very small portion of the exhibit was actually artifacts from King Tut. The headsets added very little to the show and were a complete waste of money, so don't get them if you go. The show was hyped up way beyond its value. I should have saved my money . The 3D movie was good. Didn't have to do with King Tut just about finding mummies.
Stay home enjoy a movie about King Tut !!!!!!

This was an extremely popular event...so to be able to go to the head of the lines using our VIP passes made our experience less stressful...the event was well documented...audio tour very informative...exhibits well displayed...highly recommended the VIP gift pack to all my friends...and then to receive the hardbound portfolio of the exhibit as a gift...was a special souvenir that we'll treasure for a long time...

I got the KIng Tut Holiday Gift Pack as a christmas present for my in-laws. They were thrilled to receive it, as they hadn't been able to afford it themselves. They were thrilled to be able to go in the middle of the week, and not be confined to a weekend. They enjoyed the experience so much, they came back with little museum gifts for the Grand Kids. I am an Amazing Daughter in Law

All that glitters is not gold - or Tut, for that matter.
Excited going in; lots of Tut-ancestry; some gold; waiting, waiting, waiting to see Tut's tomb; to see a "visual representation"?! I'll admit - I cried with disappointment for the last part. BUT, I was TRULY AWED by all the cool stuff though. Loved the pictures on the wall of the actual tomb, and finding the items in the collection!

I treated a friend to join me at the King Tut Exhibition. The package included several nice features. We got to enter before the general admission ticket holders, got free video headsets, free admission to the rest of the deYoung Museum, $25 voucher for the museum cafe, and a hardbound National Geographic coffee table book w/audio CD on King Tut. I would definitely recommend the gift pack.

Myself and 2 others went on Nov 25th. My partner and I had missed the exhibit the first time it came into town in 1979. Everyone we knew had raved about the show and it was all anyone could talk about at the time. The person who attended with us also had been to the first exhibit. We also purchased the headsets as well. All three of us were incredibly disapointed with the show, it was crowded during our reserved time, only a very small portion of the exhibit was actually artifacts from King Tut. The headsets added very little to the show and were a complete waste of money, so don't get them if you go. I have viewed books on the subject and saw nothing really comparable. The show was hyped up way beyond its value. I should have saved my money and just enjoyed the 2 hours in the park, it was a beautiful day in SF.

I took my mother as a very early birthday present, and it was worth the money to go see it! I wasn't alive when the exhibit was here 30 years ago, and since it won't come back to the US anymore, I had to go see it, and take the one person who could appreciate it.
The items in the exhibit do not look like they are 3000+ years old, and the artistic creativity on some of the items are incredible, I recommend going as a special opportunity, since it will NEVER come back to the United States every again!

My son and I had the best time at the exhibit. It is TRULY amazing looking at the artifacts that I had only seen in books especially the chair that an Egyptian princess had used and it is in great condition now and also the two figurines of King Tut with the lower and upper kingdom crowns absolutely amazing.
This is an exhibit to see and take your children to see and appreciate the beauty of ancient Egypt.

My mother and I attended the King Tut event because both of us had long been fascinated by ancient Egypt. We enjoyed it overall, as the displays and artifacts were amazing and fascinating. I was especially awed by the skill and craftsmanship that was obvious in the jewelry, carvings, and pottery that had been preserved so well for so long. We were somewhat disappointed that the mummy and sarcophagus of King Tut himself were not included in the exhibit, as the publicity offerings for the event made it seem like Tut himself would be there, and not just a selection of his possessions. I was also disappointed that there were no books, postcards, or photos of my favorite object in the exhibit: the jeweled collar made with a lump of glass that was created from lightning striking the desert sand. The price of admission was also somewhat high to me, which may have made the exhibit too expensive for many people. However, those items in the exhibit were certainly worth seeing, and I am glad we made the trip to see them.

The exhibit was definitely worth the price. I recommend the audio tour as well. It contains information not available on the display cards by each object. The Dallas Museum of Art handled the large amount of people very well. Even though the line to enter was long, I did not wait more than five minutes before entering the exhibit. That was on the last Friday evening that the artifacts were in Dallas.

My family and I were visiting San Francisco as part of our holiday in California this year. There was alot of advertisements throughout the city for this exhibition which enticed us into visiting. We were sold tickets for a specific time slot as we were informed that the museum limit the number of people in the exhibition at any one time. Given that, we were somewhat surprised and very disappointed to find how overcrowded it was. Clearly too many people were allowed to enter in each time slot.
Only a small part of the exhibition had artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun. The famous 'Death Mask' which heads the publicity for the exhibition was absent. I found this very disappointing and misleading. Have spent a considerable amount of money on tickets I feel that I have been cheated.
