Kasabian is not as well known in the U.S. as it is in the U.K., but that is just an advantage to the U.S.fans. Putting such a big band in such a small space like the Fonda (The Music Box) was amazing. You could feel the great music in your bones. As usual Kasabian put on a wonderful show, both musically and visually. Tom was his megalomaniacal self and Serge was beyond great. The show was fantastic and I wished it didn't end when they got off stage for the final time. Serge sang Take Aim and his voice is high and lovely, I could listen to him singing anything! I do wish they had done West Ryder Silver Bullet with Rosario Dawson or someone else. I really do like that song. The bass on their songs always thrills me. Overall a really great show!! And I would go again when they come back.
The Dear Hunter, the opening act, was musically interesting, but to me, the songs were very similar. The singer was hard to hear, he may have sung too low or the mic may not have been set properly. They sounded good, but lacked showmanship. They are not likely to be a band I would listen to often.
