Attended the show with family and friends mainly because of the venue ( Fox Theater) but left a Pixies fan. They are not flashy or loud but they produce a unique musical sound and a good show!

I have loved the Pixies for 17 years, but never had the opportunity to see them live. The Doolittle tour was fantastic, and they sound better than ever. Kim Deal only appreciates with age, and her voice is heaven. I had a far better experience than expected, which is really saying something, if you know me. The crowd was definitely more respectful... into the music, but not trying to rush the stage or push. I hope they tour all the other albums.

The PIxies sounded great! highlights for me included Debaser, Hey, Wave of Mutilation(both versions) and Where Is My Mind! The visuals complimented the music perfectly. Only complaint would be that the show was too short... more music, more music , more music!

I missed their live shows during the 80s and early 90s when they were at their youthful height, & Doolittle was one of those albums that had a heavy rotation on my player, too. Hearing they were touring again & playing all the songs from this amazing album was too good to be true. I jumped at the opportunity to snag these tickets & they did not disappoint. They may not have aged well (except for Joey, who still looks hot) but they played like the years haven't touched them. Their fancy, multimedia video/light show especially added some fun to the evening.
...plus the Fox theater is simply a gorgeous place to see any show.
Altogether, it was an awesome concert. No death to the Pixies...yet. :)

I've been a fan of the Pixies since high school, and unfortunately, they broke up the band when I was in high school so this was an opportunity for me to see them live, in concert. I thought the Fox Theater in Oakland was the perfect venue for a band that appears to be aging gracefully. The Pixies really are one of those significant groups that played a pivotal role in alternative rock history, and for that reason alone, they shouldn't be missed. And Frank Black's still got it.

For anyone who is an avid fan of the Pixies would be blown away by the experience. It was a great venue with amazing acoustics and view. The lighting and visual displays were perfect. Basically, I could not ask for a better night.

Everything you could want from a Pixies show, except for, you know, Caribou and Gigantic and that stuff. But they were on point, Frank's vocals were great, good encore. Also the Fox Theater is now my favorite place to see a show (maybe tied with The Fillmore) - great sound, access to The Den next door for food/drinks, beautiful inside and outside, easier access from BART than any other major venue in the Bay Area (besides The Paramount of course).

The Pixies were awesome, not much to say there. The opening band, Black Gold, had the potential of being really good but the guy working the sound board must've been asleep because the vocals were completely drowned out.
The Fox Theater is now one of my favorite venues. Everything feels brand new inside. There are multiple bars spread out everywhere -- it's never a problem getting a drink. And the general admission floor is actually three distinct levels incase you like to hang out in the back but would still like to see the show above the crazy crowd in front.
All-in-all the show was amazing, I definitely recommend it!

I was overwhelmed when they came out onto the stage. They have awesome presence. There energy was contagious throughout the crowd! Kim Deal was beautiful and in high spirits. Black Francis belted out lyrics and sang to my soul. There music was mind blowing and totally brought me to tears. This is one of my all time favorite bands.. What an honor to see live and in person!!!

We brought our cute 5 year old to the Pixies show, and she was so cute Joey Santiago invited us back stage after the show. It was a delight to see the band, and then to spend some time with them. Fox Theater is a beautiful venue, great place to see artists perform.

Pixies played great. Good to hear the doolittle album including "Here comes your man" which I hear is less likely to be performed at their shows. Only regret is that Black Francis didn't say a single word to the audience outside of the lyrics themselves. Though he certainly did not phone the performance in. He sang true to the songs and didn't skimp out on difficult passages or notes. Ultimately, he's a pretty damn brilliant musician and I feel lucky to have been able to see him perform these old classics. It was fantastic to share the experience with the old school pixies fans, who made up almost half the crowd, as well as the young fans.
