I cannot recommend this show due to the extremely muddy sound mix that worked to kill any vestige of nuance and subtlety in The Musical Box's take on "The Lamb". While the overall sound level was not excessive, either poor engineering or a deficient sound system made for a disappointing experience. Further, since the lead singer sounds nothing like Peter Gabriel, a more distinct rendering of the lyrics might have at least helped improve audience acceptance.
The show was not without merit. The Steve Hackett parts were very well played, the Rutherford contributions were competent, and the drumming was acceptable. However, the keyboardist seemed to be the chief contributor to the muddy mix, and was the main destroyer of subtlety. Some of the problem diminished during the non-Lamb redition of "The Musical Box", where the band appeared more assured. But that moment didn't last, as the closer "Watcher of the Skies" was summarily butchered in a cacaphonous drone that utterly failed to send the show home on a high note.
