Xavier Rudd only gets better each time he comes to Alberta. This night at the Jubilee will be one talked about as one of the best concerts in Calgary this year. There was a special energy in the building, and the audience kept that vibe from the opening note of the fantastic Totonto based group,Izintaba, to the end of Xavier's long encore set. The crowed could not be contained in their seats, most dancing throughout the concert.

Xavier was pretty good (incredibly talented) but his opening band was atrocious. I'm not sure what corner they scraped these chanters out of but they ought to go back. I'm just not into Native screaming. It sucked. The best part was when the Indian Drum Circle guys (Good Old War) just stopped. But then that moment was ruined by my short term memory kicking in and me remembering the sonic holocaust that I just endured.
Xavier himself was pretty good but the acoustics were lacking. If this is testament to Metropolis I would never go there again.

Wow!!! Not only does he have crazy talent playing so many insteuments at one time. Xavier's music is so full of spirit, passion and takes music to a different level. I absolutely love his live shows!!

I've been to a few Xavier concerts, and this one, like the others, did not disappoint. The Paradise provided the close, intimate setting that the didgeridoo thrives in and allows the crowd to jam. Very highly recommended.

This Xavier concert exceeded my expectations! I saw him last year at the 9:30 club, and some songs were hard to hear because of chatter. This venue and crowd was perfect for me because you could get really close to the stage and see every expression. The crowd was also very respectful, so I really appreciated that. The acoustics were impressive and the surrounding artwork and atmosphere was a nice touch. I would highly recommend seeing this show at this venue, but would hope that the taco would dance! I never get to experience these "unscripted" moments in concerts often, so that was hilarious.

Xavier, as always, was absolutely amazing. He's an incredible artist, and his live performances are vibrant. The only criticism I had was the venue - although the Synagog was absolutely beautiful, Xavier's shows tend to have the crowd dancing, and the pews made for a bit of an awkward combination of people dancing up front, dancing in the pews, sitting in the pews, etc. I would recommend seeing Xavier no matter where he was playing (I love his albums but live he's even better, rocking the didjeridoo!) but the shows of his I've seen in the past in open spaces were even better.

I have seen a lot of music in my days, but I have never been blown away by live music like this one man band was able to do. Just brilliant. Had us out of our seats almost immediately and the energy level was amazing. I had no idea I was going to have so much fun even though I love the music and have CD's! HIGHLY recommend!!!!

I wish he would come to Dayton. Many of the people there traveled from afar to see him, and then there was a mixture of college kids that didn't even know who Xavier Rudd was. Which is great they came, but I think that a few were there just because it was a concert. I don't think they got Xavier's message. May should lame, but it's just how I felt leaving the concert. you know when you're at a concert and you and fellow concert goes have that moment of togetherness through the artist... these were crazy drunk college kids, the weekend before Halloween. However, I would ALWAYS recommend going to see Xavier Rudd, because he is just AMAZING!!! The only reason it's not a 5 star, is because of some of the other folks at the concert.

i have been a fan for years of xavier rudd, not only as a brilliant musician and artist, but activist as well...it was truly one of the most amazing shows ive ever seen in my life and ive seen an enormous amount of shows....i only wished his music was all over the radio and more people knew about him because how inspirational and talented this artist is is top of the line, for sure...i will never miss another show of his as long as he keeps touring!!!! spirit bird is a trancelike collection of folk songs. Rudd creates a hypnotic instrumental base and then layers his breezy vocals on top. The tender “Mystery Angel” is a sweet lullaby accompanied by a tribal rhythm on a slit drum.

Very talented artist! My friend asked me if I was interested to go to concert with her without knowing who he was... I am soooo glad I went! His music resonated through the room and his voice sounds so comforting. I would totally recommend anybody to go to his concert to feel his energy and messages through his music!!!
