The setting at Ewing Manor was perfect for a Shakespearean evening. The cast was superb and the set was managed efficiently and effectively. It was an evening to remember. Kudos to the Illinois Shakespeare Festival :)

A wonderful show. Ewing Manor is a terrific place for a performance like this. We were so caught up in the acting that we almost forgot it was 90+ degrees outside. Thanks for a great evening

I have never gotten what the big deal is about Shakespeare. But the wife wanted to go. We've gone to a play or two at the Shakespeare Festival for many years. I enjoyed this performance more than most Shakespeare.
The pre-performance jazz and abbreviated humorous synopsis were both great.

I brought 4 teen-agers with me and all were very engaged in the story and acting. The actors were excellent, the stage and setting made for a smooth and professional production. The many staff available around the grounds were helpful and friendly. What a gem of a theater. I had no idea that such a wonderful theater experience was available in central Illinois. We can't wait to attend another performance!

The play was very well executed, if with some directorial flair. All the actors/actresses did their jobs though Desdemona needs to project a bit more....soft voiced. Most need to learn how to hold a foil...not enough practice at real sword play.

One of my least favorite Shakespeare plays, yet I never miss an Illinois Shakespeare production of the Bard's work. I don't particularly like this play, but enjoyed this production. I think the Iago could have been more dramatic in his negative behavior; he came across as a little to easy to connect with the common man rather than being compared to the devil. Desdemona was great, beautiful, and completely believable. Othello had a great voice and stage presence.
It wasn't too hot that evening either (although there was high humidity), which made it an even better rime. We drive over an hour to these productions and have never regretted. I've been attending IL Shakespeare productions for over 30 years. Wonderful production - highly recommend!
