This rating would have been higher had Al B Sure not been involved but (sigh) he was. Al B Sure opened and this man had a 45 min set and performed 3 songs (kareoke style), talked a bunch of nonsense and made me realized that I can never get that 45 minutes of my life back. He should have at least brought a band (or borrowed some of TTTs). He ended (of course) with "Nite and Day". His voice was still decent but his performance was laughable.
Tony Toni Tone represented better as the headliners and the family-based band (without Raphael Saddiq, who was the face and voice of the group..now off doing bigger better things) did their thing with the other two "tonys" on lead guitar and drums and a cousin taking over the Raphael vocals. The musicianship was there and they did justice to all of their biggest hits. Cuz doesn't have the vocal range nor stage presence of Saddiq but he did a passable job. They also paid a nice homage to other SF/Oakland area groups. I would recommend TTT if they tour back in area again. Unfortunately the sound system and acoustics in Harrahs leave something to be desired.
