Unfair....result error at this level of competition is unheard of? I totally understand that errors can take place, but this is ridiculous! They announce the top 5 winners in the female Auana division and distribute all the koa bowls, take pictures and the beautiful 1st place trophy. Minutes later they say there was an error in the results and call all the (1st) winners to the stage to return their awards and re-announce a totally new 5 halau that now "WON" (with the exception of 1 halau...the Japan one that initially took 1st, now received the 5th place award?!) The other 4 halau that were presented awards the (1st) time, did not recieve ANYTHING! They walked away with NOTHING! Shame on the directors, organizers, etc., who allowed this to happen.....what once was a well respected, prestigious competition has not become a JOKE.....Sorry!

unprofessionally ran...alot of halau work so hard on their performances and fundraise to travel to Oahu....impressive judges but process of how they record scores and results need to be looked at? Im not sure many halau will compete next year after this years mix up in the female auana result error. It is already poorly attended! Its a shame because this competition was the biggest thing Hawaii had...once upon a time.
