Don't get me wrong, there were some really great moments in the performance, but this felt like (and probably was) a second-tier, hinter-lands touring company. Or maybe they've just done the show too often to still find it interesting. My 6 year old adored it, and I enjoyed a good deal of it, but it was overall flat. The sound was not that good; the amplified floor (so that the tapping of the shoes was really loud) actually sounded more like dubbed sound than real. (My husband still isn't sure that it was real, it was so bad.) The show itself was a bit off; a Shaker hymn as the motif for an Irish dance set at a castle, with elaborate costumes? That's just odd. Then, again, it did have some terrific moments.
