Freakin' Bad Brains Live... What can you say? These guys are the royalty of Punk Rock: Respect what they have accomplished! Great Show, wish I could have seen them back in the 90's, too bad I was on a Long Strang Trip...

It was my first time seeing then and since they are down the road for an old time, I didn't think that they would put up such an energetic performance! It was an awesome concert, had a really good time!

Also, H20 did a good job warming the crowd for the main attraction. It was also my first time seeing then live, but I like the stage talk between musics and their songs were all fast paced but with well thought lyrics.

I would recommend people to go check it out both bands!

So friggin' amazing. Best time. Was so impressed w/ the band and HR. I cannot believe there were so many YOUNG people there; It was hard to find US ole-timers. Great, great show. (That pit was insane...to watch) I had a lovely companion, too. She really is a 'forever' pal!! Happy Holidaze to ALL!~

This show was awesome. The opening act, Year of the Dragon, with members of Fishbone were amazing, H2O kicked serious ass and all praises and love to the MIghty Bad Brains for putting on an absolutely awesome show! H.R. was on and the band was so tight!

While i could clearly hear everything when Year of the Dragon & H2O played when the Bad Brains came on the sound was very bad. At one pint I couldn't even hear what HR was saying when he was talking to the audience between songs. This was a big upset as the band was tight but the sound man butchered the sow. I left after 30 minutes because it was too bad.

My first tape cassette I ever bought was BadBrains when I was 12. I waited 25 years to see these guys live and I'm glad I got to see them twice in their hometown. The show was amazing and the music stellar. BadBrains for life. Gotta have the PMA.

Traveled to DC from Cincinnati, OH to see Bad Brains! Was excited about the historic Howard Theatre... how cool is that!?!
Actually went prepared for the worst considering HR's performance track record and having missed them in the early '90's because they cancelled, we booked our trip knowing anything could happen.
The show was the length of a short CD... and no encore was lame. The band rocked! but HR only chose to sing part of some songs and none of some others. His practicing "calm and control" was boring - it was a pricey, long trip for calm and control. They really would rock harder with another front. sorry to say. We LOVED the venue and just seeing them in person was cool. Would I do it again? probably not for them unless they came to my town... but again, the Howard Theatre was player.

The show over all was enjoyable. The venue is gorgeous - very upscale classy feel to it. The [sold out] crowd was enthusiastic but mellow - no real bad apples (depsite a handful of tough guys that confused dancing with pushing people with all their lonely might) in the slippery wet wood floor dance pit. The GzA rocked the crowd. Not the best HR performance... it would have been nice if he had either invited the rest of us to the world he was in or stayed here on earth for the [short] barely 40 minute set.... He chose? to not sing a couple or few tracks as well...

When I noticed Bad Brains were in Washington DC for a sold out show, I felt bad, but when they announced a second show, I quickly got the tickets. I'm glad I did, because the show was amazing! The restored Howard Theatre was impressive, and the sound system gave Bad Brains an added sonic luster that drove the crowd wild, along with a thrieving mosh pit!
Overall, Bad Brains(Dr. Know,Gtr, Earl Hudson Drums, Darrly Jennifer bass, and HR vocals) provided the songs,energy, and their solid hardcore base a great Saturday night of music and reflection!

So at this points it's obvious that HR doesn't want to do this punk rock thing anymore. The rest of the band should charging people to hear him mumble the lyrics and look condescendingly at the audience.

What they played was fantastic, but only a half hour? come on! I suppose i can't wish for the show they would have played 20 years earlier, but no encore? I go back and forth between being psyched that I was able to finally see one of the greatest bands out there live, and being annoyed that they had such a lackluster showing.

Except for all my friends that I havent seen in years, I want my money back! They played for 50 minutes and HR forgot alot of the words. I new this might have been the case with HR, but I thought since it was DC he would have put on a good show.

I was also at this show on Friday night. I always wanted to see Bad Brains live, but having lived in south Florida most of my life it never happened. I am huge GZA fan and would have paid to see him regardless. He was the only reason I walked out of the Howard Theatre content and feeling like my money for the ticket, parking, beer and gas was worthwhile. There comes a point in everyone's career whether it be sports, music, etc where it is time to sail off into the sunset and call it a day. It is that time for Bad Brains...at least as a band. I knew how this was going to play out as I watched a lot of recent live show footage on youtube. I still wanted to see this band live. It was quite disappointing to see HR even attempting to perform any Bad Brains songs. I mean, kudos to him for sort of trying, but it is over. Their legacy will forever live on in their catalogue and documentaries to capture the true essence of who Bad Brains was. It might as well been a Bad Brains karaoke night for that show and it was all the fans on almost every tune.

You knew it would happen. It was just when? You could see HR was having monitor problems. So like he has done before he quite. I also saw shoe in Irving Plaza that show was HR at his best . 2 days later HR at his worst. Too bad it had theakings of a memorable night.
