So I know Nato. We're not mates, just crossed paths at a work-related political function. That's why I went: curious to see what he was doing in hs new gig and I have no bias at all. But...
His was the funniest set. Not sure how broad an audience he'll reach as it was very pithy, very San Fran, stereotypical lefty-jewish humour. But FUNNY. And isn't that a large part of the purpose of a comedy show? To be funny?
The second comedian (I'm ignoring the two-song silliness that crept in after Nato) was also the second funniest. Very, very droll and, frankly, over the heads of quite a few audience members. He has some work to do but I can see Mr. Mac rising to the level of a John Stewart, he's that sharp.
As for the headliner? Frankly I'd never heard of her so checked her on YouTube. There she has a few decent skits; Tuesday night she was unfocussed, often rambled and rarely got a laugh from anyone other than a couple of loyal fans.
I wouldn't go to see just her again; if Nato and Robert build on their sets so it's not too repetitive, I'd check them out again. Hopefully when the set order is right and they're headlining.
