The performance that Norah Jones and her extremely talented support band gave on October 22, 2012 at the McFarlin Auditorium was pure bliss. I have been a concert goer for almost thirty years now (yes, I can recall paying $7.50 for a ticket) and I have seen several dozen different groups or single artists from a variety of genres performing in venues of. various types. In absolute honesty, this concert would rank at or near the top of them all. Why? Simply because it wasn't just a 'performance.' This was a joyful event in which the artists obviously enjoyed themselves and didn't strictly follow some sort of script. I have the best time at concerts where musicians show some real chops and change things up a bit from the recorded version. Norah and her band did not disappoint and she was in fine voice. I also want to mention the stage decorations and lighting. They fit the music perfectly and did not overly distract from the music (which I have experienced at concerts before). Overall, both my wife and I are very, very happy to have spent the evening with Norah and her band! Bravo and we hope to see y'all again!

Drove down and back home that night for a total of 10 hours just to see Norah at Red Rocks. So I was hoping for a great concert, and both Cory Chisel and Norah exceeded my expectations! I had never heard of Cory Chisel until this concert, but I will now be buying some of their music. I'd see either of them again in a heartbeat.

By far a very entertaining outdoor concert. Norah shows us style and talent as do the other musicians in her band. A few of the songs did drag a little bit but it just made you relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There was talk of rain.....felt two little drops but the truth is I would have stayed even if we had lightning and thunder with a down pour. It was refreshing to see such a wide age group and so very well organized.

Norah was great and the band is way talented too! I loved hearing their new music (seems to be experimenting with some spacey funk sounds) and a few of her old favorites!! This was the first time I saw her live...and she sounds even better than her recordings. With her backup singer Sasha Dobson, their harmony gave me goose bumps. Awesome!
Corinne Bailey Rae opened for Norah. I am a new fan! I loved her bright voice and light jazzy urban music.
Overall, great night for live music and you can't beat the Red Rock's venue for spectacular sound and gorgeous views.

truly in a class all her own! Norah's no doubt a shining star in the music industry today. her vocals are unmatched, her talent behind a piano is untouched. the band, believe it or not was equally impressive, with instruments ranging from banjo and upright bass, to accordian and steel guitar. they complimented her very well. Norah Jones at an historic venue like the Alabama theater was an awesome combination. thank you Norah for a wonderful evening.

NJ seemed very uncomfortable before a crowd. Odd since she's not a new performer. Had hardly any interaction with audience. What drew me to her music initially, the simple acoustic and voice, has graduated to lots of steel guitar and organ. While not bad music, it is not what drew me to her in the first place. I think she's traded her talent to try to appeal to a wider group but then can't handle them when in front of them. Sadly, for the price of the tickets I was disappointed and won't shell out to see her again.

I've waited to hear Norah Jones for a few years. I am in love with her silky voice which has the ability to calm any beastly emotions. Her talent as a songwriter and musician is impressive. How is she so subtly endearing yet carries such a knockout punch with her voice?
After acknowledging Dallas as home (she went to Booker T. Washington Arts Magnet) Norah began with a few nice numbers from her new album 'Little Broken Hearts'. Then she launched into a variety of goodies from her entire catalog. Her acoustic rearrangements of 'Don't Know Why' and 'Come Away with Me' were my favorites. Norah Jones is as enjoyable as I could have hoped for.
The only negative was McFarlin Auditorium on the SMU campus. What a dinosaur! Obviously built for hobbits, McFarlin is a challenge. I was in the first balcony with no leg room. I felt like I was in a capsule heading to the moon. I will avoid this venue in the future. But, thank God, Ms. Jones voice calmed the beast within me.

Richard Julian was a terrific lead act. Talented, thoughtful and humorous. Norah Jones focused on her new CD but ended the show with old hit songs. She had a talented band. Loved the show but I've seen her with a better band in a better venue here in New Orleans at the UNO Lakefront Arena.

Norah Jones played a wonderful show. A great mix of songs both new and old. For those reviews upset that she did not walk out, play her entire first CD and leave, I recommend you give a listen to her last 3 CD's. They are all equally wonderful. Including her last CD which is fantastic and my personal favorite. Artist change and grow expermenting with new sounds. Norah has done that wonderfully. She is touring behind her latest CD. Of course that will be front and center. If you were at this concert with little knowledge of her last CD and did not walk out wanting to give it a listen to, maybe you should stop going to concerts. Or stick to those artist tourning behind only greatest hits. Love your new stuff Norah and looking forward to your next. My wife and I had a fantastic time.

I am aware that music artists tire of singing their standards the same way time after time. This was the second time I've seen Norah Jones perform and was looking forward to hearing her lush dreamy voice. The whole concert sounded sort of rock a billy lite. Her better known, older songs were rearranged dramatically. I understand taking some liberty in a live performance, but I almost didn't know the music I came to hear.

This concert was a birthday present for my sister. It was a special girl's weekend for myself , my Mom and sister. This concert was not at all what we expected. She played four songs that I would say were "Norah". The others were from her new album. And, to be honest, I can't think of a good word to describe her new music. Nothing like we have ever heard from m Norah before. Had I known this in advance, I would have never purchased the tickets but instead would have used my money to treat my Mom and sister to something we would have enjoyed. I was embarrassed and very disappointed that this was the gift I chose for my sister's birthday. I feel cheated...I feel like she used her popularity of her older music to draw a crowd,forced us to listen to an opening act that was not announced and then forced to listen to some very strange music of her own.

Very disappointed. Norah played for about 1 1/2 hours and the vast majority of her songs were from her new album. This was not the Norah Jones I have listened to for years. Her new songs, along with a new band, were loud and the lyrics almost impossible to understand. She has a new lead guitarist that really distracts from the show. He must think he is entertaining, but his jerky movements and spastic "Elvis legs" need to go .She hardly ever interacts with the audience, and this performance was no different. She goes from song to song to song like its just a job and she is in a hurry to leave. Her "piano bar blues" that I have always liked have left the building.. I just hope she finds her way back.

Some parts of the concert felt like "Norah Jones meets The Partridge Family" with overwhelming psychedelic lighting. But Norah Jones has one of the purest voices I've ever heard and she never disappoints. The best part of the concert was at the end when there were no extras, just voices and guitar.
