I had never been to a Cirque show before, but had of course heard all the hype. Mystere lived up to the hype and more. With great audience interaction, the show was fun, funny, and amazed everyone with their feats of acrobatics.
The man-on-man rotating handstand had a lot of face to crotch action which might be uncomfortable for some, but was an incredible work of gymnastics. But what set this apart from any regular floor routine at the olympics was the creativity with which these gymnastics were displayed.
If I had any criticism of the show it was that the theme didn't really make much sense. Whoever imagined the storyline, set design is clearly on acid or other mind-expanding chemicals. But honestly, you won't care if there is any sense to the parade of scenes and acrobatics. Its that good.
Sit in the middle section. I was in row three, and while that had its own level of fun, it was sometimes hard to take everything in as things were going on in front, to the side, directly above, and sometimes behind me.
Its incredible that someone could think of this and even moreso that there are athletes capable of doing it. Bravo!
