The kids thought it was great. They have been talking about it since the event. Even did show and tell. They liked the robots, jet propelled quad and the RC show too. It was cool meeting all the drivers in the pits before the competition. We think the judge's scores were a little questionable! We loved Grave Digger but he didn't win anything. Better luck next time.

Location:Traverse City, Mi.

The arena was small and the track was asphalt. For our first time to a Monster Jam, it was alot of fun, very entertaining. Next time we will choose one with a dirt track to get the full effects of the climbing/wheelies/donuts, not just driving over cars. We had a great time regardless!!

Overall I was highly disappointed as it was nothing like I expected per reviews, pictures and advertisments.
It was VERY SLOW moving and felt they were dragging it out just to make it a two hour show. It was hard to stay awake, not what I would have thought being at a Monster truck show!
No choreography with smoke, music, lights, etc.. It seemed the arena may not have been the best but not sure what to compare it to just know it was not like pictures I saw with lots of dirt and running around. Do not have it at an arena if it does not meet the needs or make up for it with some other form of entertainment such as lights and smoke, sound, etc.

Favorite moment: At the beginning the lights were out, the song bad to the bone started playing. Grave Digger came out of the tunnel with his red headlights on. @

It was a good show. My son had a great time. The arena was small for the trucks to get up to speed. They were still able to maneuver and do some great jumps and car crushing. We had third row upper level seats and I feel that I got my bang for my buck. Not sure if I would of felt the same if I had paid for the lower seats.The look on my sons face when grave Digger came out with his red lights on was priceless. Very cool!

-Loud so remember ear plugs, kind of slow moving, would be better in a bigger arena, but great for my boys they LOVED it! Age 3 and 5

It was a great time. Really enjoyed it. Only negative I have is that the Van Andel is to small so they couldn't get on the trucks very hard. But it was still a blast to see them.

Monster Jam was Awesome! My 3 kids loved it :) I wasn't too impressed with the Van Andel seating though...Really packed. Everyone had to stand up so you could get to the stairs. The event itself rocked though!

The men Really enjoyed it, the women in our group had a fun time. I would love to bring the Grandsons, I think they would love it. They did a lot of things in between that would be great for boys. It is definitely loud so be sure & bring ear plugs or buy some there, even the adults were wearing them.

This was the first Monster Jam event my family & I attended. Huge Jumps!, Loud Engines! &
Sick Donuts!! We had a blast. After the show all the drivers signed autographs. We are excited to see what next years line up will be.

This show was so exciting! We had seats at the top of the arena but that didn't matter. We could see perfectly. My boys loved every second of it.

The Van Andel arena in grand rapids Mi was to small for monsterjam I mean there were 6 trucks and there was no way they could all drive at once. Way to small of an arena. Its like driving a Mazurati in a driveway. But overall the show was great and my 2.5 year old loved it but make sure you buy GOOD EAR PROTECTION FOR YOUR CHILD. Preferably the earmuff kind. But we were in the third row and it was kinda loud for him and we even doubled up with ear plugs and the ear muffs which were made for shooting.

The trucks and drivers were great, two thumbs up. great show!!! But the intermission show - transforming battling alien robot cars scared the crap out of my kid(6yrs old) and alot of other kids in the stands, i thought it was way to mature for them & innapropriate(gun fighting&taking over the planet- really?). The arena was too small for this type of event in my opinion also.

Great show for someone who has never been to a monster truck show.
VanAndel Arena is a small venue for the trucks but still good.
The bike show was very very good!!!
If you have children, make signs, your chances of getting free stuff.

I would recommend seeing this in a bigger stadium. The trucks didnt do the stunts and races like they do in Detroit.

It was our family's first trip to a Monster Jam event and overral it was o.k. My son was disappointed that there was no dirt for the monster trucks. And wish the arena would have been bigger. Overral the kids did have fun and have been playing with their monster jam trucks non-stop since we came home:)
