This was a pedestrian, scripted performance of tunes from the likes of Cole Porter, George Gerswhin, Irving Berlin, Richard Rogers and other luminaries from that wonderful era of popular and broadway music. The first half was unfortunately stolid and rather boring and got me to thinking to myself "And a one, and a two and a three..." Kelli O'Hara was an essential ingredient in saving the perfomance after intermission with some splendid singing. Mind you, the audience was enthusiastic, as Orlando audiences are wont to be, but this canned performance was not up to the standards of what the Boston Pops delivers at its best. It was an 'on the road' production and sounded like it.
