Never serve alcohol to idiots

Favorite moment: I like it when Dan talks to the audience like we are his friends. @

Opening act(s): I'll have to admit one of my favorite parts of the show was hearing Herb Alpert and the Tiajuana Brass while we waited for the show to start. Love that old LP from my childhood. @

I was dreadfully embarrased at the behavior of the drunken fans at this beautiful venue. What ever happened to having respect for the performing artists? This was not A BAR. I felt as though the artists, though they tried, could not stem the yells to the stage and stupid comments from the obviously drunken persons. As a lifelong Minnesotan, I was embarrased to be in the same room with those people. Dan Wilson only played a few songs from his enormous creative repertoire and his brother was like, well, not as charismatic. The decision to play Toolmaster of Brainerd for the closing song was just like a nail in their coffin. :( A crowd like that is what will keep Dan Wilson living in Los Angeles for the rest of his life.

Except for the drunken yelling fool in the upper balcony it was a perfect evening. Great mix of songs, beautifully played and sung plus just the right amount of blathering .

This show was not great. Each brother showcased their own songs, but failed to come together for any cohesive feel. This was surprising, as they have played so well together in the past. They couldn't even get it together to play the old Trip Shakespeare songs. Matt was striving to rock, but Dan seemed to be in control and all the songs were mellowed down for an easy listening experience. Beautiful songwriting and singing- yes, rock music show-no. The worst part was how they kept changing guitars after what seemed like nearly every one or two songs. The auditorium filled with silence between the songs, and these guys who used to banter nonstop were strangely silent throughout most of the show.

Their mix of songs, old and new, peppered their performance perfectly. There was definitely something that appealed to everyone. They are amazingly talented. I could've listened to them all night.

The group was fantastic. Dan as well as the sax and keyboard player demonstrated solid career potential as jazz musicians. A Grammy could be in their future.
