This is perhaps one of the best Rideout concerts I have attended. Having never heard of pibroch before I was immediately overwhelmed by the intricacy and depth of the "big music". You have to be an active listener as this music takes energy and paints entire landscapes before your eyes as you are hearing it. This is a dying art which must be preserved and if you haven't experienced it you must check it out. Goto John Purser's website or the BBC to learn more and visit Bonnie Rideout's website as well. There is no other music that I have heard to date that touches the soul like this music does.
