Unique experience. Such a live concert for about 300 spectators, Sonny Landreth performance was great and Geoff play on high Level. It will be nice to have them in Montreux in the next Futur.

This was the first time I had seen Sonny. In the beginning, I thought it was pretty one dimensional - and it is - but as Sonny continued to play it just got better and better! His talent on the slide is unmatched. He is also a super nice guy - came out and talked with people after the show and signed autographs.

Ashamed to say that I had not heard Sonny play until that night. i love Jeff Beck and Johnny Winter, but Sonny is so phenominal to hear and watch. I only wish the acoustics were a little better as his leads got lost at times under the Bass and Drums. The engineer should have backed off their volumn to let Sonny Shine.

The concert had a rocky start, as Sonny's guitar was largely drowned out by the rhythm section for the first 4 songs. But once the problem was solved the sound was stellar. Every song was a masterpiece after that, and i beg those of you who are not familiar with him to give him a try. No offense to Derek Trucks, but Mr. Landreth is the true king of slide guitar.

Microphone didn't sound good when Sonny sang. Very muffled you couldn't understand anything. It was good but after 5 or 6 songs it gets a little boring.
He doesn't talk or have much personality.
He is a great guitar player though. Overall I enjoyed but I prefer there to more going on on the stage.

there was an issue with the sound for about 4-5 cuts. he mentioned it, which was good. quite loud, guitar was not as clean and crisp as it should have been.
solid overall; about an hour & a quarter in length.

What a treat to see so much talent in such an intimate setting as The Rhythm Room. Sonny is incredible to watch as well as listen to... Slide guitar mastery and the music is just Happy.

I saw Sonny in NYC last year, and this year my wife was able to join me. It's always slightly worrying when you tell someone that an act is superb, then they get to see for themselves. She was blown away, as was I again. It's rare that you get to see someone who invented a style, Sonny played for two full hours and we would go again tomorrow if he were here again.

Sonny Landreth is an incredible guitarist, but he has his sound guys crank the amp power up so much that the speakers fail to produce any nuance in his playing. The result is, even with acoustic ear plugs in (without which, the show would literally be at unsafe listening levels), a wall of sound that lacks much of any definition. When the performers stopped playing for short periods of time between songs, even the buzz and hiss of the amplifiers receiving no input was very loud. That's never a good sign. Louder isn't always better, especially in a small venue with only a few hundred people.

The opening act had considerably better sound than Landreth did, and usually at this venue, the opposite is true. The opening act has decent sound, the volume is turned up a bit for the headliner, and within a song or two, the sound guy has gotten into his groove and it sounds great. This show sounded terrible from beginning to end, and it was all because of the amplification, not the performances.

Despite the terrible audio, there were some enjoyable moments, but they were too few for a concert that has so much potential.

The show was amazing - Sonny is always on top of his game and just seems to get better and better. This is the second time we saw him in concert and I have to say this time was even better - his new album is phenomenal.
