I went to Voodoo in '07 and caught Rage and the Pumpkins, thought it was amazing and didn't come back the year after. Came back in '09 for the Flaming Lips, Janes Addiction, and the PFunk and I have to say the festival has only gotten larger and better. As is the usual the commercialization of the festival has become immense which is never a festivalgoers favorite thing, but the music has largely become more diverse and better. Voodoo has come from being Jazzfests younger more annoying kid brother, to a fully matured and intersting festival. I'd highly recommend it for the Halloween festivities. There isn't a festival with as great of food or in a city quite as unique as New Orleans (ok other than jazzfest). Go

This was awesome!!! We are definitely going back next year and investing in VIP tickets! Way worth the money, and it's a good excuse to go to New Orleans!

I've gone in years past and it saddens me to say that this year I was left very disappointed. They had a few great bands, and I did discover some bands I've never heard/seen until that weekend. However, I felt like past years were WAY better in selection and variety. The set up was small, and wasn't as big as years past. I felt that for what was offered, ticket prices were too high and should have been reduced drastically. Voodoo merchants selling pipes, clothing, food, etc. were cool to look at but it looked like they were packed in very tight spaces. Just overall disappointed with the layout, size, and variety. I'm going to assume it's because of the way the economy is and that future festivals are back in full swing like years past.
