I knew that the performance of the participating groops as the individuals were to be good. But I was most impressed by the director of this event. Without a mistake, no time, no deadtime, the groops entered, performed and exit the arena in an impressing speed and accuracy. I am speechless. Thank you for an exellent evening.

This was our second year of attending the Tattoo and certainly not a disappointment. We did however miss the celtic dancers but still a wonderful performance by everyone involved and we would highly recommend to any and all.

We love this, try to go every year. We wonder why there was only one door open for entry though; it took nearly a half an hour waiting to get in and we missed the first part. Funny, all the doors were open for exits though!

Go early because there is entertainment on the terrace from 12:30 - just get inside before it's over.

International and awesome are the key words. These describe the feeling of hearing Amazing Grace in French, Norwegian, Dutch, and English; of hearing bags n' pipes of Scotland/UK; seeing beautiful lassie dancers from Australia; listening to brass from Norway; watching a jeep be assembled in minutes by a crack Canadian motor-T team; hearing hundreds of local Navy, Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard, and high school voices rising and falling in unison to patriotic songs; and seeing rapid assault teams compete against the clock and over obstacle courses for expert marksmanship titles. The 114 minute show was action-packed from beginning to end with over 800 performers - most having experienced recent combat action in different parts of the world. The tribute was well received by an overtly patriotic military audience. Norfolk and NATO stood proud!

Wonderful presentation. Truly appreciated the Judeo-Christian music that was incorporated in the program. Would liked to have seen a few more military drill performances.

My son and I have attended the Tattoo for 2 years now. It's such a wonderful event. The music and dancing are amazing! Such a great show every year. We're looking forward to next year already.

My wife and I look forward every year to the arrival of the Virginia International Tatoo. This year was no exception. Every year there is something different to see. The pre-Tatoo show on the mall is always interesting. The portable grandstands are a great addition. You can sit down and enjoy the entertainment prior to the arena access. Truly great family entertainment.

Have lived here for many years..this is the first time I've been. The show was everything that was advertised and more. It was amazing how all groups were all in sync with such little time for practice. Loved every minute if it.

Our first Tattoo will not be our last. The hour and a half performance flew by, left us wanting more. All of the bands were outstanding and well represented their individual service branch. Can't say enough about the performers' professionalism and demeanor . Sometimes we laughed, sometimes we cried. Overall musicality was flawless. The pipers were spell- binding. The military soloists were of the upper caliber in any concert venue.

I had never been to a Tattoo and it was remarkable. From precision marching to comedic moments, I enjoyed the entire performance. The music was great and covered the gambit from contemporary to classical. I will go again.

My experience with a Tattoo over the years has been the gathering of the bands and drill teams. There were too many untrelated acts that had nothing to do with a military tattoo, such as
(a) A jazz rendition of the great Davre Bruebeck
(b) The Air force big band group, not anything related to a tattoo.
(c) Young girl dancers trying to dance to the big band sound without male partners.
It was like Mary Janes junior girls dance class. Where were the boys?
(d) The local High School glee club should have at least been singing militaty songs
(e) It was entertaining however it was a far cry from the traditional tattoo. It seemed as
though you ran out of money.
(f) Where were the Marine Corps, Navy Etc. Drill teams or marching bands?
(g) The only drill team was from Norway and they were great.
(h) Next time concentrate on the real tattoo concept. and maybe I would be interested.

Overall performances were good. Not nearly as many patriotic stirrings as last year's performance. Really hoped there would be another "War of 1812/Star Spangled Banner" similar to last year. Although the choir performances were excellent, felt there was too much time allocated. Looking around the audience, a lot of yawning.
