Its a high school troupe, so lots of imperfections , but made up for with energy and heart that send you out with a smile on your face. I've enjoyed every year.

We've been going to this performance for more than a decade and wouldn't miss it for the world. These dancers are SO talented and exude so much love for dance -- it's hard to believe they're only high schoolers. They show us a variety of dance from ballet to hip hop to tap to African, all beautifully choreographed and costumed. Truly, this yearly spring offering at the Newmark makes for an exciting evening (or afternoon) and is great to take out of town guests or your favorite neighbor to. If you enjoy watching dance and want to see what disciplined teenage talent can do, don't miss the J. Dancers. You'll leave the performance with your own toes tapping and your spirit buoyed. Great for the whole family.

My mom and I attended the matinee performance of the Jefferson Dancers on Saturday, May 8. What a show! The dancers were amazing, and their energy filled the theater and our hearts. Their dancing abilities far surpassed anything we had expected from a high school dance company. Each dance number was unique and displayed their depth of knowledge and skill in tap, ballet, contemporary, and cultural dance--as well as their high level of creativity and expression through dance. Costuming was kept simple, yet colorful and perfect for each number. All the dancers had big smiles as they performed; they appeared to really love dancing. It was an excellent performance!

Even if you haven't put years of blood, sweat and tears into these kids, it is well worth seeing them perform. You forget that they are in high school. So well trained and amazing. Worth every penny for the tickets and what a nice venue!

the jefferson dancers put on a show that was very enterataining from the beginning to the very end. Their training and gorgeous ballet technique definately shows through in every piece that they do and is showcased in their different syles of pieces. From tap, hip hop, modern ballet, jazz, to contemporary.... they have it all in one show. I had to remind myself that I was watching high schoolers and not professional dancers.... they are that talented.
