It was the first time as an adult that I'd been to a Disney on Ice performance. When i saw they were coming to town, my children of course wanted to go, but i had fears that we wouldn't be able to get good seats and the tickets would be extremely expensive like the prices they want you to pay at Disney World for souvenirs. That was not the case.
We were able to get wonderful seats at an affordable price. I looked for a coupon code online and we did end up using that and it worked great. Our seats were right up front and the kids were oohing and aahing every time one of their favorite characters would skate near where we were seated. the hardest part was getting them to stay in the seats we were assigned and not run down closer to the ice.
We saw Mickey & Minnie, Cinderella, Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine, Beauty, Rapunzel, Tinkerbell, the princesses did dances with their guys, and the it's a small world crew had come out and did that facet of the performance with the lighted props gliding across the ice along with the skaters. there was a section that had "the "Incredibles" actors as well.
con: we had gone onto the website ahead of time and looked to see who was coming and the kids were looking forward to see lilo and stitch, and a couple other characters that it said would be at our particular performance and then it ended up that they weren't there at all so they were a little disappointed about that. I had assumed when it says that these particular characters would be there that they would be so for future reference never tell the children who will be there.
Also intermission was over so fast, we barely had time to use the restroom facilities and grab a snack, we were speed-walking with our drinks back into the performance after the lights had gone out and the kids were upset and worried that they were going to miss something even though we'd left for the restroom as soon as the lights came on at intermission. 5 more minutes time would have been nice for that, hurrying with 2 small children isn't easy.
overall, a wonderful performance, the kids really enjoyed it. they played many of their favorite Disney songs as background music. there were leaps and spins and twirls just as professional as you see when you watch the ice-skating performances for the Olympics on television so you can tell they have really practiced for the event. also, everything was so in sync, it was well choreographed, no fumbles of any sort. there was even something of a story line throughout the performance.
