I am from the old SWC days and SMU moving the games back to campus to me was the best thing they ever did. The stadium is very nice for a mid major type school. Fans, what little there are as Tech and other BIG 12 schools take over the stadium, are not very engaged and are a bit cocky to have not had much success vs the big boys.
There isn't a big college atmosphere as SMU is usually outnumbered by bigger schools and seem to be more interested in partying on the blvd than supporting their team. Many leave early and never come back.
Will be at Jones AT&T stadium EAST with thousands of my red and black clad friends come Aug 30th, 2013 when Tech plays SMU. I am sure Tech will help make yet another "record" crowd for SMU.

With the exception of the rain it was a lot of fun. The SMU stadium really doesn't have a bad seat in it. Seat backs were nice and plenty of leg room. It is a very nice intimate venue.

This game had it all. Rain made it hard for players to hold onto the ball. SMU play like a top 25 team they stayed in the game and could have maybe won it if Gilbert could have found his wr more. TCU defense came up with big plays when they needed them. The bands for both teams where great. The cheerleaders for both teams weather the rain and keep cheering for their teams.This was college football at it best.

...is equivalent to a mediocre HS football game experience. The fans seemingly do not care. After half the only people that remained in the stadium. This may be because all of their fans either stay on the Boulevard (tailgating) and never make it into the game, or leave during the 2nd quarter to get back. In a city as large as Dallas, and for a school that claims to be "Dallas' Team", this is flat-out pathetic.
At least you can enjoy your school destroying their awful team.
Cocky, yet unloyal fans. Overpriced concessions. WAY overpriced ticket.

Easy to buy the tickets. My Ponies didn't like the rain. Only thing I'd change is to give best available buyers options: four seats on row 20 section 107 or row 25 section 209.

Good deal in the DFW area, if you want to see some decent NCAA football at a good price. Tickets are usually inexpensive and there is the free shuttle parking also.

The 2011 SMU-Rice football game was a fun time. The campus is lovely, the people friendly and helpful, and the stadium is small and intimate, giving you the feel you are very close to the happenings of the game. Great place to see a college football game.

SMU has a great on-campus facility with ample and AFFORDABLE parking. Ticket pricing was easy on the wallet too.

I think it is sad that SMU may be joing the big east. You can't sell out a stadium with a team that you played a conference title with last year. Start a new conference.

The game itself was very good, except for the fact of the seating being in the sun. The sun was in my eyes and I damaged my right index finger trying to catch the ball. My whole finger is bruised. The Seats were in direct sunlight and we were led to believe that these were the only two seats together. False information.

We will not go to a sporting event again anytime soon. We took our 11 year old son to the SMU-UCF game. The fans on both sides need to grow up. The foul and nasty language coming out of fans' mouths on both sides was disgusting. Why can't people learn how to act in public? We were sitting in the UCF section, and had some SMU fans behind us. The lady kept screaming "go Mustangs" loudly in our ears. Which is fine, she's cheering her team, I get it. But when SMU scored a touchdown when they already had a commanding lead, and she gets up and screams "IN YOUR FACE!", what was that about? No one said or did anything to warrant that. And then when my husband told her husband that we were leaving because his wife was getting obnoxious, she called my husband a "sore loser." How about being a classy winner? Geez, people are so crude and obnoxious nowadays, and never bother to look and see how they're acting, especially in front of a child.

My wife and I love watching SMU games, the venue is perfect for that atmosphere of D1 college football, but its in the middle of Dallas. AWESOME!!
