I'd like to preface this by saying that a lot of the issues I had with the show was more due to the crowd than TBS. I'll start by saying that Bayside is great and they always perform well live. It would have been nice if they had a bigger set, but I understand that TBS was the main band.
Maybe I saw TBS on a bad night, but Lazzara's voice was very weak. This made the crowd worse because basically, you could only hear the people around you singing THE ENTIRE SHOW. WHY WOULD YOU GO TO A SHOW TO SING AT THE TOP OF YOUR LUNGS? DO THAT AT HOME. I understand that some people like to sing, but when it's every single off tune person you really can't hear the band.
Lazzara also spent about half of the show walking around every part of HOB and I think singing (couldn't hear), which also meant half the show you couldn't see him so the band is on stage not moving and he was off somewhere where 90% of the people couldn't see him either...
The other funny thing about that is that Lazzara's patented mic move is to swing the mic around A LOT onstage which requires a mic cord, you'd think he'd switch to a wireless mic to go ALL AROUND HOB (not a small club) but...NOPE. This would have been more humorous if it weren't for the 33 year old adult man behind me screaming at the top of his lungs to Great Romance and saying that Tell All Your Friends is the best cd ever...seriously this was happening.
