I myself am a HUGE Neon Trees fan, and was so psyched to find out that they were playing with both Maroon 5 and Owl City, other favorites of mine and my brother's. I attended the concert at the IZOD arena. I bought tickets for my brother and I, as a birthday gift to him, and our seats were in section 228 - a designated "limited view" section.
I assumed that the seats I snagged, being the same price as other tickets on the same level, would offer the same or similar experience. I did not feel this was true. We were only able to see about half the stage; blocking most of the instrumentalists in the groups. Speakers were directed out from the front and immediate sides of the stage, but not in our direction, so it was difficult to hear the singers singing, and even more difficult to hear the words they were saying when they spoke between songs.
At the very least, I expected screens within the arena to show us what we were missing from the front of the stage, but while the acts were onstage, no additional screens were lit. It was only between sets that the screens showed previews of other shows to come to the Izod Center.
I understand that the label "limited view" indicates that we would not be able to see every detail of the show, but I was disappointed that after paying almost $150 for seats (and then $25 to park) that myself and my brother weren't getting the great "live" concert experience I was hoping for.
I originally hoped to get closer seats, but by 10am the day the tickets went on sale, no more were available until the limited view seats were added at a later date. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will be attending another concert at the Izod Center if this is what I am to expect. It kind of put a damper on the whole experience.
