SouthSide Johnny was in top form as was the Asbury Jukes ! The last time i had seen them was a few years ago at the Towne Ballroom but this was a much more intimate atmosphere. The sound was right on , the harmonizing was awesome. The brass horns were great & sometimes silly.The whole band acted silly at times; just seemed like a bunch of buddies jamming together & enjoying it. Several songs ended with an "acapela" that was just absolutely beautiful.
I took a friend to the show who had never heard their music before, and now she's a follower ! She ,too, loved the show! We sat at a table along the wall &danced all night !it was truly a fun evening &worth every penny we paid. after the show ,SSJ signed a shirt that I bought there, spoke briefly w/me &posed for a picture-a night I'll NEVER forget !

A very entertaining experience and an excellent group of musicians they are.My husband and I absolutely enjoyed the whole show.We really enjoyed the brass solos.As a group they all had a great time playing together.When Southside Johnny came on stage that is what he said...." We are gonna have fun tonight".They sure did and so did we!

Southside closes his show with that simple line at every show. He is reflecting the fact that they are a working class no nonsense band. Playing to a half filled Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, Johnny gave it the same energy that he gave when I saw him at the Ritz in NYC in 1986 when you couldn't get more people in with a shoehorn. He played to the core of his fans. Since their music is never played in South Florida which is a wasteland of having radio that plays a setlist of bands and that is it. I heard no pub on the radio or Hard Rock. I saw it on the changing bulletin board for 5 seconds. Johnny knew that those who came under those conditions were his hardcore fans and he delivered. The Hard Rock has a horrid policy of restricting the band to 45 minutes. A roadie came out and told Johnny that he had 15 min left and you could see that he had planned on playing more than he did. Wherever he is I will always watch the highly energized, non-pretentious, working class music of The Jukes,like Bruce used to be.

Just a good time with a great band and excellent horn line. Fun people on the floor at the House of Blues, many having seen SSJ over the years. My first time, yet a decades long fan. SSJ delivered.

As usual........another inspired performance from Southside and the Jukes. This is probably the 20th time I have seen Johnny (the exact numbers escape me since the shows from 70's are just a blurr, but I digress)...
Good playlist....Great banter between songs, oustanding showmanship and a horn section that sounds as good as it did 30 years ago...
Highly recommended.

Awesome as always. Jeff compliments John so well. John Isely and Neal keep getting better. John Seguso on drums was amazing. John Conti and Glen were really solid. Chris, next to John, is my favorite! I know the band wasn't happy with the sound but it wasn't noticeable. The fans were in heaven

Johnny and the Jukes have been around for quite a long time. Have seen them numerous times and it is easy to see why they were the house band at the Stone Pony for many years.Always a good time.

I had great seats for the show,. I wasn't feeling all the great all day @ work, but I went to the show anyway.....but at the last minute I became very ill and had to leave before he came on..I am orignally from NJ & have seen SouthSide Johnny before..but I am very sad I had to leave on Thursday! Im sure the show saw great!!

I had seen Southside Johnny and the Jukes several times in the 80's and 90's...
While I was vacationing in Florida I saw Southside at the Hard Rock Live and I thought although the energy from the 80's probably was not there but the sound and fun music surely brought back the memories of past years. I just loved the horn section, FANominal!!!
He played some newer songs but mostly the classics, DON'T WALK AWAY RENEE, GOT THE FEVER, and of course HAVING A PARTY!!! Bottom line is I plan on getting tickets for his show on March 23 when I return back to Cleveland, Ohio

Our first time to the Hard Rock! The concert venue was clean, acoustically terrific and all seat selections appear to have great viewing with no obstructions in this smaller facility. The band was amazing! Lots of personality, showmanship and great sound. This Jersey girls was glad to see them perform in the real South!
