The show was very enjoyable, my husband loved KENNY VANCE, he still has it!
He was exceptional as was everyone.
First time to St. George Theatre, thought I was in a theatre in the city. Lovely place.

The MC was personable and kept things rolling smoothly. Each group was wonderfully different. The audience was alive with clapping, waving and singing along which was encouraged by the lead singers of each group. All in all a wonderful evening in the theater. Looking forward to the next one!

Superb Groups, Singing Marvelous Songs, with an Adoring Audience, The Venue was great, seating comfortable ...have to do this more than once a Year...Why not once a Quarter of a Year?

Excellent show at BergenPAC. All groups were well-received, with the Tokens and Duprees shining brightest. Gene Chandler ended the show...a real show-stopper. Was outstanding on covers of other folks' material...Rockin' Robin and I Only Have Eyes for You...which is really hard to do. Brought the house down with his cape and tails clad classic Duke of Earl. At 72 years young, voice is amazingly strong and energy level was second to none.

Each group performed to the MAX! This was the first time that I saw the Angels and Gene Chandler. Both were amazing! At age 72, Gene Chandler can still perform!!!

I love Doo Wop so this show was great for me. The harmonies and falsettos were amazing. Only thing I did not like was that the theatre had some "fake smoke" effect going on the whole time, even before the show started. It was burning my eyes, nose and throat and it was quite uncomfortable. The threatre, however, was beautiful!

The sound system really stunk. I had good seats, 5th row in the balcony, couldn''t hear most of the groups. Kenny Vance was the best as usual. Hapenings and Tokens were good, but again couldn't hear most of the songs.

The event was called, A Fall Doo-Wop Spectacular." This evening was spectacular from the first note to the last. The music I grew up with and played guitar on as a teenager still lives on and gets better with age.

The groups that made up this evening were just ageless. The Chantels, even without Arlene Smith were captivating. Hearing The Classics and the Teenagers was like watching American Bandstand after school in the 60's (so where's Dick Clark when you need him)? Kenny Vance and the Planotones just bring the house down, and Charlie Thomas and the Drifters had the entire audience "Up on the roof" rocking and remembering.

An evening of exquisite music, joy, laughter and even a tear or two thrown in for good measure. I'll be talking about this one for a long time!

This show was fabulous! Way beyond what I expected. I wish the evening would NEVER END!! All the performers worked so hard to make this show a great one. I especially was impressed with the DOVELLS. They related very well to the audience and did a fantastic job, being back-up to Joey Dee. Their combined efforts brought out the quality of their songs.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR'S DOO WOP SPECTACULAR!!!

My mind went back to the days of my youth as I listened to the songs I grew up with. Hard to believe that 50+ years have past since some of the songs and artists first had these hits but they sang them like time had stood still. Bravo to all. The Dovells, Joey Dee and the Starliters, The Orlons, The Crystals, The Crests....all fantastic! I hope more of these shows come to Hawaii.

Joey D - Amazing - his energy electrified the audience
Lovenotes - Amazing - they really know how to reach the local audience. Johnny Valentine a standout.
Merrill - Awesome set of lungs - That boy from Coney Island can sing! He really connected with the local audience when he did "Over the Rainbow"
Orlons - Awesome - still got it!
There were two girls who sang solos - They were awesome! Bring them back. The most memorable was the one who sang "Baby."
Dovels - OK
Angels - OK
Band - They sounded like they were out of tune. Didn't adequately project sound. Hard to hear the Sax and I was in row BB. I along with others whom I spoke were really disappointed with the band. The sax was the only really good part of the band and it was difficult to hear him. Keep the sax but we should have a much better band to back up the class acts that performed Saturday night.. The only reason I did not rate this event as 5-stars is because of the band.
