Favorite moment: Graham Lewis singing on "Please Take". @
Setlist: Mostly from their brilliant new album, Red Barked Tree, "Please Take", "Clay", "Moreover", "Smash", "Down To This" as well as older favorites like "Spent", "In The Art Of Stopping", "Being Watched", "Comet", "The Agfers Of Kodack", "Boiling Boy", "Drill" and "Kidney Bingos". I really wished they had of done "Ahead" also. That would have made it a perfect night. @
Opening act(s): Madensuyu, a two man band from Belgium. Surprisingly, they were quite good and got a very warm welcome from the crowd. A rarity for most unknown opening acts. @
If you have never seen Wire, I suggest you do so. These guys are, and have been for the last 30 years or so, one of the most influential bands of all time. Original guitarist Bruce Gilbert has left the band, but Matt Simms has filled in quite nicely. The other original members, Colin Newman (vocalist, guitarist), Graham Lewis (bass, vocalist), and Robert Gotobed (drummer) were dead on. They are true masters of their craft.
