I only liked 2 songs, the rest of the concert, I was ready to go. I think she sang knew stuff and I just didnt like it. Her voice is beautiful, like a instrument, just the material wasn't entertaining to me.

Amel Larrieux continues to be one of the most underrated and overlooked R& B artists of today. Her concert at the Howard Theatre was intimate, ethereal, and awesome. The one problem I had was that it was too short! I could listen to her sing for hours. Great venue for a fantastic performance.

I am a huge Amel fan and was looking forward to seeing her show. Amel has an absolutely stunning voice, but for some reason she barely performed any of her hits. I recommend seeing her, but just be prepared to not know half the songs. Also, her daughter has an absolutely beautiful voice. Amel should allow her daughter to perform a duet with her and pass the torch.

What else can be said about Ms. Larrieux? She sung beautifully and entertained the crowd. Lots of interaction with the audience but it did not interfere with the flow of the show. The Birchmere is a nice, intimate venue and I will definitely return again to see the Birchmere and to see Amel!

WOW! Her performance left me speechless and breathless. The things that woman can do with her voice is absolutely amazing. She connected well with the audience and allowed us to see a more personal side to her that was achieved through her music. My money couldn't have been better spent on a better singer. I'd go see her again and again and again. She mixed old with new and never lost my attention. GO SEE HER!!!!

Amel Larrieux's show was as wonderful as i expected it to be... she did all of my classic favorites, threw in a few fabulous covers and shared new music too. it was a family show with her daughter providing back up vocals and accompaniment.... my only complaint was that the show was too short. i wanted more and more encores. whenever she comes back to DC, i'm definitely buying a ticket.

What a treat this was to see one of our favorite singers. Amel comes to the DC area to various locations, but this was even better at the Howard Theater. Newly renovated, we were impressed at th decor, food, and drinks. Amel did not let the crowd down displaying her wide vocal range, style, and the reason why she has maintained her strong following.

This turned out to be a great date night as well as we continued the night hanging on U St. My girlfriend was all smiles the whole night.

This was the first time that I saw Amel Larrieux live and I wasn't disappointed. She has an amazing voice and the Howard Theatre was the perfect venue to showcase it. Amel did all her hits, including Groove Theory's "Tell Me", and she sounded better live than on her albums, which is hard to do. If you've never seen Amel live, you're missing out because she gives an engaging, exciting show.

This was one of the best concerts I ever been to. The intimate setting was great and Amel really put on a show. I enjoyed Amel's new selections and old. When I left I felt like I knew and understood Amel Larrieux and her music.

Cool venue. Definitely a good place to watch an intimate show. Tables were tightly packed which made it difficult to walk around or even get to seats. Sound was good as was lighting. Amel rocked as usual.
