Joyfest is an awesome event. I love outdoor music concerts. Major gospel artist with theme park admission is an unbeatable deal and a great value. I plan to go again next year, but get my tickets early so I can have a seat. The lawn was fine, but my grassy neighbors were rude. The view from the lawn is great and you have space to move if people respect boundaries. You can hear very well and the sound for the artist was excellent. I brought a pair of binoculars so I could see their faces. It is a great event for anyone. I ended up flying solo which wasn't bad for the concert, but kind of lonely walking through the park. I like the park because they have something for everyone. I would have liked to see Crystal Aiken and Martha Munizzi sing 1-2 songs more. It was like they were the Opening acts which I don't consider Martha Munizzi to be.

The rain made it hard to stay , but I loved all of the performers they were wonderful. I wish that Kings Dominion had special accomendation for inclement weather.

Afterward I reflected on how many songs we sing in church about God sending the rain, or downpour, or opening up the flood gates of heaven ...then at JoyFest we worshiped in the rain. William McDowell, IMHO, was amazing. There were a couple thousand people attending, but when he led worship, I felt like no one was around me, it was just me and the Holy Spirit.
Vashawn Mitchell and his group are extremely talented--they blew me away. Loved how they praised. Lecrae is another worth going to see again.

It was an amazing program and line up. The groups moved quickly between sets to keep the excitement going. Weather was a factor, however didn't dampen the spirit. The meet and greets were very rushed. Did not have much chance to meet, would of like to hear about something current in the performer's life.

This was my 1st Joyfest & probably won't be my last. It rained all day but my spirits weren't dampened.

Humble Tip & Hallel HP, the two unknowns, were GREAT & energetic.

Then William McDowell brought us into worship & Lecrae amped us up.

I missed Marvin Sapp until the end but Fred Hammond closed us out properly.

You know that this outdoor concert was good when it kept a packed amphitheatre even through the pouring rain!

The line-up of singers was the key: Lecrae, William McDowell, Martha Munizzi, LaShwan Mitchell, Marvin Sapp, and Fred Hammond. Some of the openers weren't very good, but we'll only count off a little for that.

I also removed a point because we had "VIP" passes. However, we didn't get our VIP packet until we arrived at the concert (4pm-10pm). This wouldn't be a problem except there was a pass included to skip to the front of line on any ride that day. Since the aprk closes at 10 and the concert ends at 10, too, how would that pass benefit us? We should have received that at the front gate! Or when our tickets arrive in the mail.

I went to Joyfest with two of my friends for my 21st birthday. It was one of the best gifts I have ever been given. The rain did not even matter. No one left. It was a great sight to see hundreds of people lifting their hands and singing all for the Lord. There is an artist for each type of musical taste. It was well put together and beyond worth every penny spent. It was truly a blessing to go, and I will be attending next year too!

Joyfest was awesome this year. I loved Lecrae and Mary Mary. I think they should have the same type of format next year. Mix it up with the gospel hip hop and contemporary. Even my 2-year old nephew stayed awake for most of the concert and enjoyed himself.

The only thing that I would suggest is that the major acts such as Marvin Sapp, The Mary's, and Fred were on longer. It seemed as though they did not have enough time to really perform like they wanted to. Fred did not get to sing enough of his songs.

I loved seeing my favorites, Mary Mary & Fred Hammond! Marvin Sapp has a great testimony & it comes through in his songs. The ladies sang their hearts out! They love what they do. Fred is so seasoned as an artist! His show IS the gospel version of a Maze concert, we sing along from beginning to end, just filled with worship! Humble Tip & Lecrae were good too, but I wished the opening act was different. Bone Hampton should be kept as the MC each year. Bring these artists back next year!
