Having attended numerous FL shows, I have to say that the '09 New Years Eve Freakout was something special. The set list on the regular part of the show was nothing short of phenomenal...a wonderful mixture of the songs we all like to sing along to, as well as cuts from the new CD (just the right amount) and a few others they rarely play live (what a treat).

Then the magic happened...the double whipped cream with two cherries on top was when they combined with Star Death and White Dwarves to perform Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon in it's entirety (with recorded support by Henry Rollins and Peaches). Not only did they Lipsicize the music in a way that paid tribute, but made it their own--the show itself was spectacular.

Hats off to Wayne, Kliff, Michael, and genius Steven (and everyone else involved)...and many many thanks for the best New Years experience of my 53 years on this rock.

This was hands down the most amazing concert I have ever been to. These guys kept the crowd engaged and there was never a dull moment. Amazing effects, amazing music, and definitely a New Year's to remember!

If you are into hippie music then go see them. I thought they sucked. Honestly, he brought a baby doll on stage and talked to it. Just shut up and play music...but the music isn't that good anyway. Just trying to be a recreation of bands from the late 70s with jumpsuits and all.

What a great vibe in the pool at the Hard Rock Cafe. The crowd was great. The music was wonderfully hypnotic, and the party in the pool after the concert was a blast.

The energy for this show was amazing!!! And, seeing Jackson Browne play with the Lips was a once of a lifetime experience that I will never forget! However... the sound was horrible! And, it was just when The Flaming Lips were playing. The guy that opened up had perfect sound. That would be my only complaint. That... and there was NO freaking AC! Hello!!! We live in Mississippi! :) The whole experience was wonderful though. I went to 3 of the 8 shows and each one was a beautiful moment that I will always cherish!

The Flaming Lips have the Greatest Show on Earth. Although, this was not a typical Flaming Lips show, I was glad to be part of their Guinness Book of World Record setting shows.

yep, temperature wise, AND the show!! but what else would you expect in small-town mississippi!!!
TOTALLY organized- the Lips, Jackson Browne and Hunter Hayes were ALL awesome!! Most of us there had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the guys we went to see!
Loved every minute of it!

I have seen the Flaming Lips 3 times in the last 5 years, and this was far and away the BEST SHOW YET! They used to the third best show of my life, but after this intimate experience at Liberty Hall, they have officially taken over as #1 best show!

This show was amazing. What a way to help Liberty Hall celebrate it's 100th year anniversary. I knew this show would be special from the moment it was announced. Liberty Hall is already one of the best venues to see a concert in my opinion. For the Flaming Lips to bring their mega stage show presence into such a small and intimate setting was just magical. The whole show from start to finish was like being engulfed in a giant blizzard of love. I've seen the Flaming Lips before, but this was a night like no other. It completely blew away my already lofty expectations. Love, love, loved!!!!!

Imagine a PACKED venue with thousands of fans all completely engaged in the happenings of the concert. This was a show like that. The atmosphere was incredible. The Flaming Lips have a reputation of putting on amazing shows, and they are spot on. So much theatrics, which makes the whole show feel like a community. Not to mention the fact that they played tons of hits. Just magical.
