I love this opera. It is fun and entertaining. This was only my second time to attend an opera but it hooked me. There were no boring or slow moving acts. Everything seem to capture my attention from start to finish. If I had to come up with something negative about this performance it would be the vocals seem to stay at the lower register for long spells making it hard for the sound to reach the audience. When the vocals would use a more variety of movement the sound traveled better. But even with this problem the play was so good it was easy to overlook this little imperfection. I would highly recomend seeing this opera.

This was my first trip to the Portland Opera. Overall it was enjoyable. The sets, costumes and performance were all wonderful. There were a few points when you could not hear the performer over the orchestra.

I enjoyed this opera very much. Only the second time attending an opera.
My brother and sister-in-law have season tickets and I always last minute want
to go. I use ticket master. I was able to purchase a ticket right next to my family.

Good opera, not outstanding. The sopranos were wonderful and the baritones had great projection. I've seen Falstaff before and it may have been that this was the last show, but for a comedy it was slightly lack luster. The scenery and costume were wonderful and it was well worth seeing. Just not the best preformance of Falstaff I've seen.

Rather average, singers are subpar, the best is the resident artist who sang the part of John Ford.

Had a lovely evening at the opera...Eduardo Chama, as Falstaff, especially stood out with his wonderful voice and great comedic acting. The sets were also very good.

The performance was excellent! I've never been to the opera before but I really enjoyed it. The cast had amazing chemisty which made it even better. I appreciated it even more because Falstaff seems like it could be a difficult piece to coordinate but the way it was executed made it seem effortless. I'm definitley planning to go to more Portland Opera perfomances in the future should oppourtunity arise.

I highly recommend this program. The music was wonderful but a little loud at times. The actors were wonderful and and left us laughing. I have seen little opera but have enjoyed what I saw. I enjoy it so much more with being able to see the words and able to follow the story. I have plans to see many more The Portland Opera Association is to be commended for their presentations.

Incredible! Surprisingly wonderful. The soprano aria in the second moved me to tears. Now, a week later, I'm still whistling the "E Lucevan de stella" tenor solo from the third. I would see this production again, in a heartbeat.

I have been attending Portland Opera since the 70"s and had season tickets for many years.
I have retired at the coast and do not attend as regularly. I knew I needed to seeTosca,which is one of my favorite Operas. . I certainly was not disappointed it was a great production...the orchestra, the singing, acting all were superb. We had a great time.

This was my first time to any Opera (and, obviously, to a Portland Opera production specifically). I was amazed! I've watched a lot of opera online and on TV, but I never thought it could be this amazing live. I only wish I had the time and resources to make it more often (I live about 350 miles away).

The scenery was beautiful, as well as the music and the acting fantastic! The next morning, I awoke and my head was full of orchestra music.

A very strong performance from Ms. Thomson (Floria Tosca). The others were fine, demonstrating great emotion and musical ability. Of course the BIG arias elicited mid-act ovations and were well-deserved. The sets (from Seattle Opera) could have stood a bit of steam to get rid of a few unfortunately-placed wrinkles, and in his pre-curtain subscription plug, Christopher Mattaliano (General Director) referred to the opera pronouncing it "TAH-skah" rather than "TOH-skah." Other than that, Tosca made for a satisfying night out.
