The Moscow Ballet's performance last night of the Nutcracker was truly awesome. The flexibility and strength exhibited by the top 8-10 performers was amazing. Not sure who they got to play the kids parts, I assume it was local dance students and they were O.K., not the best. The costumes were a delight to see and again, the top 8-10 male and female dancers were simply a joy to watch. Too bad they did not have a live orchestra to accompany them, I think it would have been even better and more authentic. Anyway, I would recommend this performance to anyone wanting to see Russian ballet.
