This show was amazing! The crowd and the atmosphere was chill. The opening act was good and really warmed up the crowd. Saadiq really put on a show, it was energetic and he interacted with the crowd well. The encore was crazy stupid with Q Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, aw man just crazy!

The show was amazing. It really felt like being back in the days.
The outfits were great, the 'background' singers did an incredible job.

The show was perfection. From the opening acts, Anjulie and Soulive, to the endless encores by Raphael Saadiq, there was not a single moment in which dancing and grooving did not occur.

Raphael Saadiq put on one of the best shows I have ever seen. Not to mention a phenomenal opening act in Soulive. His band is amazing and entire show just brings this great energy to everybody in the audience. The crowd was great and everybody was dancing and singing along the entire night! One of the best performers I have ever seen, hands down!

Terminal 5 is an amazing venue - great view as it's not too big, but big enough to get a great atmosphere!
Raphael and his band were awesome - gave it 200% all the way through, they really earned their money! The backing singers were great - more like they were performing with Raphael as a trio than just backing singers. Nice to have some special, surprise guests too - Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Mohammed.
Anjulie (the support act) was AMAZING! We bought her album at the gig and haven't stopped playing it. She played about 6 songs from the album which were incredible live - lots of drums etc. She was also in the lobby after the gig doing signings, having her picture taken with fans and chatting to people - really lovely! Another great performance on stage with, again, giving it 200%! Brilliant!

the show was full of energy and (apparent) improvisation! i was not impressed with the opening act. the lead singer had a beautiful voice but, she did not convey passion for the music/songs she performed.

This concert was unbelievable! I love shows at the House of Blues! We got there to see Anjulie open, so we were right up front on the floor. Anjulie had such an amazing voice and fun songs. Soulive was next, they played for about 45 minutes. Just the band played a few songs and then brought out Nigel Hall, who was amazing, for a few more. The crowed loved them! Raphael Saadiq came on around 9 and played till 12! His energy was unreal! The band & back you vocalists were great too! The whole crowed danced all night. They did multiple encores and at the end brought out Anjulie and her band out. It felt like the show went on forever and no one wanted it to end. We really got so much more than we paid for with this show.

Man...I truly withheld the FINAL star because I wanted so bad for him to sing more oldies/goodies (like he did on VH1 Soul) in this performance. It was completely a shock to see him literally set the stage on FIRE. He was so energetic, charismatic, sounded so sultry and smooth- just like the albums. If I thought he was handsome before, he is now proven to BRING SEXY. The opening acts also provided a sweet, jazz-filled, unique pavement to the biggest act of the night. It was a great blend of performances. Again, I prayed and prayed for a Toni, Tony, Tone song or at least "Ask of You"- which was my only disappointment. Otherwise, in essence, the show was a complete 5 Star. Thank you to all who participated: the musicians, dancers, singers...you all wore huge smiles and made the show that much more enjoyable. I would love to see this again~

Raphael Saadiq is an energetic performer, but his show was a bit of a letdown. He opened with 100 Yard Dash, a great song which they played so fast that they lost the groove. His first 4 songs were overly slavish copies of classic Motown style (although Saadiq's red suit gets an A+) that lacked the funky groove of the real thing.
He then completely changed the whole feel of the show, losing his suit and tie, and singing some of his popular songs which are indistinguishable from the majority of today' s Top-40 R&B hits by the likes of John Legend. He lost me there. Part of the mystique of the Motown greats was that they never lost their cool, and Saadiq jumped around the stage giving numerous shout-outs during the set like a hip hop act.
We really loved the warm-up act Soulive, who rocked the house.
