Gossip's show at the Showbox on the 23rd was totally unforgettable. Beth sounded amazing and all the musicians played terrifically. You could feel the energy bouncing off the walls! Dancing and jumping around with the rest of the crowd was incredibly freeing and a highlight of my entire month. My only regret, and the reason they got 4 out of 5 stars, is that they only played for a little over an hour. I would have loved to hear more songs!

Favorite moment: Gossip in black body shaper climbed pillar to sing to the balcony folks (who, by the way, must have had fresher air than those of us on main floor). @

Opening act(s): 1st act = some performance act whose name I missed. They were in full body masks. Interesting, but weird. 2nd act was Man to Man or something. They were okay. @

Gossip was great, and it was clear that she really enjoys performing. Even when the show was over, and some selected exit music was playing, she came back on stage and sang along, shaking hands with the audience, etc. I enjoyed every minute of her show.
However---there were TWO opening acts, and Gossip did not take the stage until around 10:15pm (the tickets, of course, called it an 8 o'clock show). Not so great for a Sunday night.
Also: the venue! Regency Ballroom is a lovely space, but OMG. Too hot. Way, way WAY too hot. Sweat dripping down my back. People mopping brows. People sweating profusely and smelling like you would not believe. Every so often they'd pipe in a little fresh air. My friend, who is about 5'3", never breathed fresh air, nor could she see the stage, the entire time Gossip was playing.

beth ditto and gossip rocked the house sunday night. even though she claimed to be feeling hoarse, beth entertained us completely. she engaged the audience, and managed to be warm without giving up any of gossip's indie rock edge. the music was energetic and intense, and i am now a committed fan. this was my first gossip show, and i will see them again whenever i have the chance. go see this band!!

The opening acts for Gossip were both great in their own ways. We are the World came out and gave a electro-dance experience that showed true promise. Men came out and kept the crowd hyped during their entire set. The energy of their music and enthusiasm for their songs gives me reason to believe they will emerge as a true presence in the growing synth music scene.

Beth Ditto came out and let the crowd know she was hoarse and would do the best she could. Never experiencing her perform before, I was blown away and did not feel cheated that she was not at full capacity. The band sounded incredible and Beth is a true icon in the making. She unabashedly belted out song after song and you felt the love and passion in every note she sang.

I am a true fan after seeing Gossip perform and will be waiting for their next visit to the Bay Area. This band is hitting their stride and are truly taking off into another stratosphere!

Love the Gossip, their videos, their CDs...but until you have heard them live, you haven't heard the Gossip! Absolutely amazing vocals and stage presents. Beth, the lead singer is so full of life and engaging. This is one of the best live shows I've ever seen. I would absolutely recommend the Gossip to music fans of any genre. They are first class talent!

i've been a huge fan of this band since they used to play for the underage at the Old Redmond Firehouse nearly a decade ago. It's good to see how far they've come because they deserve it and much, much more!! Beth Ditto is the voice of my generation and the band backing her are just as great at making you move. i never miss an oppurtunity to tell people how great they are, and my friend, who saw them for the 1st time at this show was beyond satisfied. this band will never fail at gaining fans. and if ya don't know, now you know!

Wow how amazing is this band!!!! Full of energy, Beth really knows how to draw the audience in and really interacted with us. So I am one of those people that usually just bops to the music but I was full on dancing and jumping to their music.

Stunning show. She said that she had a cold and may not be able to reach the high notes. Well I could not tell that there was any problem. That girl can SING! One of the most powerful voices that I have ever heard. Even if you don't know them you will go away a fan. I even got a date out of the concert so it was even that much better

Awesome show loved it, will definately go see them again. Beth has an awesome voice hannah was great on the drums. The venue was ok drinks over priced alot of pushing and shoving but its a concert what do u expect. I left with a big smile not wanting it to end loved the show cant say it enough. If you love the CD they bring it to life on stage raw all natrual talent they blend together so well.
