The concert was great. Very high energy! Mr. Vassar is an incredibly talented musician, singer & songwriter. He has a great interaction with his audience and leaves us all wanting more.
I would see him again and again and not tire of his talents. Thank you Mr Vassar for such an entertaining show.

Awesome show, with a lot of stage presence. Phil did not have a set list, but instead took requests from the audience the whole evening. What a great show!

Phil Vassar is not only a talented pianist, songwriter and singer, but an energetic entertainer. He really knows how to connect with the audience. This was the first concert I attended at the National in Richmond but will definitely be going back. The small venue makes you feel part of the show.

The few hundred in attendance @ The National were treated to an always incredible show by Vassar with the bonus jam on Sweet Va. Breeze w/ Robbin Thompson and Steve Bassett. The National did an awful job of promoting....nobody knew about it. Phil intends to play Virginia venues more......venues need to promote and fans need to support. National is a great venue for gifted artist like Vassar. Kudos to the bartenders for excellent service. Let's do it again soon and do it right this time RVA.

This was our first Phil Vassar concert and I guarantee it will NOT be our last! Phil puts on an awesome show. He enjoys interacting with the audience and even asks for requests. A very high energy show. Phil and his band sound ridiculously great. The most fun concert we've ever intended!

Have seen Phil in several concerts and as always puts on an outstanding performance. Very energetic and always gets the crowd into the spirit of his music.

Phil Vassar put on a great show as usual. Took awhile for the security dudes to realize it was a concert and no we shouldn't remain sitting down, but after that it was a great time.

Oh, and I think they had food there - but I was just there for phil

Selfishly, I love that Phil Vassar is not a mega star playing in stadiums. He's one of my favorites and getting to see him in small venues is amazing. He always puts on a great concert. He's fun, makes things up as he goes, get the audience involved. Love him!

As always, Phil Vassar came out strong and filled the evening's performance with energy and joy. This guy obviously loves to sing and entertain, and the audience benefits from the fact that their happiness is important. Phil was personable and engaging, taking requests all night long. Love that he ends the night with a cover of Piano Man. It is as if the song was written just for him.

Phil Vasser is ranked at the top of all country/rock acts. He is a great musician who can play any song with-out any hesitation in his delivery. As a budding artist myself , it is very cool when you hear someone so in touch with his music.

Phil is a great songwriter, vocalist and piano player. He always has an excellent band including his bassist Jeff (they grew up together in Lynchburg, VA). This is Phil's home state so he had several friends in the audience. He spoke about very local parts of his life. Phil is happy and upbeat, and grateful for those who enjoy his music. He is a very high energy performer, very engaging with the audience, and is an extrovert that loves to perform and share his music. I was a little disappointed Phil didn't jump up on top of the piano as I've seen him do in previous performances, but he was playing a smaller electronic keyboard, not a Baby Grand! :) Go see Phil if you get the chance - you will enjoy the evening!

The Birchmere is small and quaint venue. It has been here for years and has seen thousands of artists over the years. The stage was set up almost in a Las Vegas style manner for Christmas. Phil Vassar came out by himself for the first song "Black and Whites" and immediately began engaging his audience. If you can't tell by his song lyrics, he is a great story teller. He will make you laugh. He makes you feel like you are sitting at home visiting with friends. Once the band joined in you quickly remember how he gained his fame including 7 songs that have hit number 1 on Billboard's country chart. They took requests for most of the night and furthered the feel of being home in your living room. He gives you this electric blanket on a big comfy couch feeling. It was a great experience.
