The venue was great! It was spacious but get there early! SHE was hilrarious! Food,,,so so...not bad but keep in mind its not 4 star eating, service from gal was pretty good, perhaps a bit harder to catch in the last hour. As usual in a comedy show, you sit up frontish..,be ready to answer a question or engage in a conversation with Paula! So funny, also some choice words now and again...we don't mind but just keep in mind in case you are thinking of bringing any minors, or are offended by it. Would totally go again.

The best part of PP event is that she picks people randomly from the audience and starts to interact with them, asking basic questions and spinning those into ongoing stream of consciousness interwoven with what are obviously some regular parts of her "act". This is not a comic who is strolling the stage ranting at you, feels more like you're enjoying the company of a really thoughtful but funny old friend for the evening.

Paula takes everyday situations and pulls the idiosyncrasies and contradictions out. She was under the weather when she performed yet gave a super performance. Her interactions with the audience were just great. I certainly am glad I asn't under her microscope.

We had heard Paula on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me on Public Radio. She's very funny on that show. That's why we wanted to see her. BUT!!! I had no idea she could just go on and on with impromptu funny things. In fact we each had the same feeling afterwards—we never laughed had laughed so hard, for so long.

What can I say? I wanted to go home with her and live with her cats and crazy life or... at least hang out with her. She shines a laser beam of mirth onto topics that get glossed over in the darkness of every day.

Paula has all new material, so don't expect the old routines. She seemed a little off of her normal off-kilter performance. (Does that even make sense?) The performance had its low moments and lulls that Paula didn't really fill in very well. All-in-all, and entertaining night, but not the best, and not even HER best.

I first fell in love with Paula Poundstone years ago and was so happy to come across this event! The Palace of Fine Arts in SF is just beautiful and a great venue. Every seat is a great seat and comfortable. Paula was in a signature suit and honestly looked JUST like the last time I had seen her on a TV special! Her timing and great sense of humor was just as I had remembered. She interacted with the crowd and built her act from them. Too funny! The ONLY thing I wish was that she had talked more about her cats!!! Paula's rendition of a cat hacking up a furball was hysterical! I understand that Paula plays this venue each year and I WILL be back to see her next year! Thank you for sharing time with me again Paula....I missed you!

This was our second time seeing Paula Poundstone at her December show in SF. She is truly a gifted improv comedienne. Her improvised exchanges with audience members are brilliant, witty and outrageously funny -- the audience is gasping for breath because we're laughing so hard. Her latest performance was more than two hours long and never lagged.

Paula was great as usual, her play off the audience shows how clever she is. She torments them! Her humor is relevant to today's times and she doesn't need to use the F word every third word to be an awesome comedian. Big thumbs up!
We had dinner up the street from the Palace of Fine Arts at a place called Liverpool Lil's. Reasonably priced, lively environment, good food and a 5 minute walk to the show.

Paula Poundstone is so quick witted that you can hardly keep up with her. She can take an ordinary statement and turn it into half an hours worth of laughing. She is relatively clean, a few f-bombs, but all in all, not profanity laced. This was our first time seeing her live, and I would definitely go and see her again.

My wife and I are recent seniors. We went with our twin daughters, their brother, and significant others who are all around 30. We all loved the show. Highlight was the inprov with the audience, also loved the political stuff.

After years of enjoying Paula Poundstone on "Wait, wait..." it was a real treat to see her in person. She's every bit as quick and quirky as we'd hoped, and hearing her "rants" in a more extended manner was a pleasure.
We were a bit uncomfortable with some of her dialogs with audience members, which bordered on condescension, and her negative portrayals of her kids, but overall, we had a great time.

I have been a fan of Paula for years, but I never had the opportunity to see her live. She did not disappoint. Her routines are hysterical, but the interaction with the audience takes laughter to a whole new level. No matter the topic, I feel Paula never losing focus on making her audience laugh. And did we ever laugh.

Paula Poundstone is so quick on her feet. She has a pre-scripted outline, like most comedians, somewhat on the cynical and self-deprecating side, which is well put together and quite funny. But what sets her apart and becomes hilarious is her penchant for mercilessly drawing various audience members into the conversation, those who are brave enough to sit within visual range or to answer when she calls out a question. The evolving theme of each performance is shaped by Paula's spontaneous wittiness with the audience, sometimes at their expense, sometimes at her own, and is undoubtedly distinct every time. We sometimes couldn't catch our breath from laughing so hard.

This is probably the eighth or ninth time we've gotten tix to see Paula. We've never been disappointed...we've always come out of the event with a smile...and look forward to her next visit back to San Francisco. She's an amazing entertainer...delightful...spontaneous...and just a lot of fun. Come back soon Paula...we already miss you.
