The Cambria County War Memorial might be an old venue, but it is one of the greatest place to see a hockey game. Due to it’s small size there is not a bad seat in the house. This makes for an intimate feel for a hockey game, that put you front and center for the action. The event staff was helpful and friendly. The War Memorial was the home rink for the Charlestown Chiefs in the movie “Slap Shot.” When they get a new hockey team, I will be going back to see some games.

To be at the War Memorial for the last game of the Chiefs was absolutely AMAZING! History was seen by me and my family and it was like we were living out the real-life version of "Slapshot"...great seats and atmosphere!!! We will miss you...good luck in SC!!!!!

It was a great experience to be a part of and I will miss them! For those of you who dont know who the Johnstown chiefs are but love hockey, you need to rent the alltime classic movie "Slapshot", the chiefs and the Johnstown area were a big part of this. Thanks Chiefs for being a part of the Johnstown community for so long, well miss you!

Every seat in this Arena is great! I was lucky and sat 2nd row behind the home attack goal for 2 periods. The game was exciting but this was the last game that this Johnstown Chiefs will ever play here as they are moving to Greenville S.C. for next season. The economy and fan turnout forced the sale of the team!
There were several fights and the Chiefs just needed a better defense and better goaltending to start the game. This Arena only holds 3800, but like I said ever seat is great to sit in here! I will be watching upcoming events held here as go to several seeing you will so close to whatever is going on at this arena! I feel bad for the locals losing their Johnstown Chiefs. The only bright side is that the Wheeling Nailers will be playing 10 regular season and 1 preseaon game here next year so hockey is not dead in Johnstown,PA.

That game was fun, as always. Sad to see the Chiefs leave Johnstown. My son takes his friends to a game every year for his birthday. We will miss going to see them. It was good family fun at a reasonable price!!!!!

great game, good seats had fun. Took the 4 and 6 year old, they loved it. Foood is $$$$$, and the game would have been a whole lot better if not for the rednecks yelling profanities behind us. How about some crowd control for a family environment.

Game was excellent. Not a bad seat anywhere. The venue needs help though, restrooms stink and everything is very dated. The entrance is the best part of the venue.

We've been to some Johnstown Chiefs games before and wish the team wasn't leaving the area after this season. They're not the best at hockey, but they're fun to watch. The regular, die-hard fans are a hoot, too, and often times provided more entertainment than the game itself.

It's a small venue, so plan your seating carefully. Two of the four people in our group wound up directly behind the Bud sign they light up behind the goals when someone scores.

I am a longtime Chiefs fan, and wanted to go to a game before they move. The venue is classic, although I wish they kept the old wooden seats and kept the appearance like it was in Slap Shot and during the 1990's. The game was awful. The team is not very good, but they showed no emotion at all, neither did Trenton. There was no hitting, one subpar fight, and a whole lot of bad hockey. They looked like high schoolers on Ritalin. I was so disappointed by the lack of emotion and aggressiveness out there. I wish it wasn’t true, but that was probably my last Chiefs game.

My son from Philadelphia, and now Houston, is a hockey fanatic. Since my husband and I relocated this year from Denver to western PA for retirement, we decided to treat him to the "Slap Shot" locale at the War Memorial and a Chiefs hockey match. I am 65 and a geezerette and not a sports fan, but I figured I'd be a good sport and go along with the guys.
WOW, what fun that was! You can really see the players up close, and the action was good. My son explained the nuances of the rules to me and I had absolutely the best time -- in fact, the time flew by!
Would like to have a little more audience interaction to earn five stars: some T-shirts thrown into the stands, perhaps? Llittle kids getting to ride on the Zamboni (is that right?) In Denver the Rage games are pure entertainment during the periods of play as well as during the intermissions.

It was not one of better Chief's games. They need some work. The season is young. They have a lot more games to improve. The goal tending looked pretty good.
