when we arrived and found our seats, we found one of the seats was broken. before the national anthem, we told the usher of the problem. he said he would get someone. at the end of the first period (no one came yet) i went downstairs and reported the problem to another coliseum employee. he said they would get somewhere there. after the intermission, and into the 2nd period, 2 employees came up and tried to fix the seat. no luck. they left. one came back. again no luck. a supervisor comes up and asks if the seat was fixed. we tell him no. now a woman. tell her no. they send back one of the 2 carpenters, who now has some tools. we tell him to wait the few minutes remaining in period 2. he then tries and fails to fix the seat. the original usher now comes up and asks us if we would like to move. that his supervisor has seats for us elsewhere. so, we gather up our belongings and go to the entrance. the usher says he will get his supervisor to move us, we wait 10 minutes until the third period is beginning, at which point we returned to our original and still broken seat. no else heards from for rest of game.
at one point we spoke to an employee of the islanders who told us, she couldnt help us, but handed me a card of someone in the islanders office to call on Monday.
WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE...as soon as we reported the problem, someone should have come inspected and moved us to empty seats in a clearly not full venue. then perhaps they should have gvien the little girl sitting in the broken seat a tee shirt or something and apologized for the inconvenience.
there was a time when i had season tickets to the islanders. last night they reminded me why i gave them up.
