In yet another contest against an Eastern Conference opponent, the Lakers took another decisive victory, this time against the Chicago Bulls, 108-93, in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,997 at the Staples Center. Pau Gasol made his season debut after suffering a hamstring injury, as he scored 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. And Mr. Bryant? Kobe set yet another milestone as he became the Lakers' second leading scorer in their franchise, as he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; he now only trails the legend, Jerry West!

Great event! The usher that was seating people was a little rude. She did not let my husband wait for me at the entrance while I went to the bathroom and wanted him to go to his seat, yet she allowed other people to stand around. Overall, it was a great event.

Hate the luxury suites. Had tickets in the third level, too high, had vertigo.

On Tuesday night, November 17, 2009, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons, 106-93, in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,997 at the Staples Center. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 40 points in this milestone game for him; this was the 100th time Kobe Bryant scored 40+ points in an NBA game. The starting five for the Lakers was solid again, with DJ MBenja, Josh Powell, Jordan Farmar, and company coming off the bench to contribute mightily for the Lakers. The Pistons played without two of their scoring leaders, Tayshaun Prince and Richard Rip Hamilton.

Regarding the Lakers vs Nuggets pre-season game on 10/23/09:

Traffic within 1 mile of the San Diego Sports Arena was atrocious!!! We got in line to exit the freeway less than 1 mile from the Arena and 1 hour before the start of the game. It took an hour and half to get to the parking lot, then another 20 minutes to park and walk to the Arena. We parked in a 1 hour zone, we didn't see any other parking spots.
We missed most of the first half of the game, didn't see Kobe play at all as he played in the first half only. My husband left the game to move the car and security wouldn't let him back in. He saw only 7 minutes of the game.

I purchased these tickets for my son's 16th birthday. He plays basketball and is a die hard Lakers and Kobe fan. Hi missed almost half the game, didn't get to see Kobe play, and didn't get to watch the game with his father. Unfortunately all of the negative aspects of the game being at the San Diego Sports Arena overshadowed his excitement for being at his first NBA game ever (we normally can't afford to buy these tickets). I will NEVER go to an event at the San Diego Sports Arena again. I highly recommend the Lakers organization NOT schedule to play there ever again...for the sake of their fans.

I was really excited to see the Ariza and Artest showdown. Loved how Kobe and D.Fish presented Ariza with his championship ring (we miss you, Trevor!!!). It was a great game up until the third quarter when the our guys got lazy and ended up losing the game! I actually like Houston and I'm glad Brooks got to shine, so I can't say it was a terrible experience. They just better step it from here on out.

Overall, good game, but it would've been excellent had they scored the W.
