venue: excellent.
symphony: extraordinary.
randy jackson: so-so.
Jackson's channeling of R Plant gained momentum through the show, but he occasionally acted lost, as though he hadn't rehearsed and didn't know what was coming next -- led to an amateurish, disjointed presentation in places. can't blame the symphony for that.
Event was tasteful and rated G -- it was an introductory symphony performance for my 5, 8, and 10 year old kids -- the older two like to rock out already, so it was a way to show them the symphony without boring them with a Brahms concerto. 12 and under entered free to the lawn -- that's the ONLY way I could take the kids, and I'm grateful to nTelos for that pricing policy.
NTelos wireless staff was friendly and helpful. $8 for a draft beer, however, is not an optimized price. there's no way that nTelos couldn't make more money by dropping the beer price to $5-6. At $6 I would have probably had 2 or 3, for a total gross income of $12-18 for this customer. At $8, I would only treat myself to one. $8 for a 16 oz beer is more than a major league ballpark.
