I love a good show. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in new york seeing broadway shows, I guess you could say we are ametuer patrons of the arts. This show was way too long and shouldn't have started as late as it did. Our sweeney todd had a rich buttery voice, not at all dirty british or harsh raspy with worldly experience the way you would expect it to sound. When adults play children roles I think it would work better if actual children were not in the chorus. It ruins the illusion of youth. However the theatre was cozy with a singer and pianist in the lobby. The chorus did some interesting things with the set. They did a good job telling a difficult story to tell on the stage, it just wasn't what I expected. The rest of the cast was very impressive and talented. It almost seemed a waste that Sweeney Todd wasn't better cast.
