Parts were not the type of dancing i am used to but i enjoyed watching a new form. I LOVED several of the dances and others were just a little off the beaten path. :-)

The evening's ballets by Copland, Barber and Dello Joio were executed beautifully by the exquisite dancers of the company. So valuable to see what these classic American pieces of music were written for!

The Martha Graham Co. dancers are a sight to behold. You watch them jumping and it seems effortless--yet when you reflect on the movement or attempt a facsimile of your own you realize the power and discipline these dancers are capable of.
The show itself was most informative, and several of the dances were inspirational. It was truly educational to see the roots of so much movement that still lives today in the modern idiom. I would have enjoyed even a little more of the historical dances.

Was a fun approach, sort of a narrated retrospective of Graham's career with some film, some commentary from Graham herself, and some very cool dances. I have to admit that El Penitente was rather over my head, not being a Christian.

The Martha Graham Dance program was quite enjoyable. The narration was informative and well-spoken, the film clips were wonderful to see, and the current present-day dancers were lovely to watch. This was a very interesting evening of dance, very informative and a joy to glimpse the life of Martha Graham through a historical perspective.

I have previously only seen the Martha Graham Dance company on TV. It was amazing to see this level of talent in person. This tour basically honors Martha Graham, loosely following her history. She is indeed a very important part of America's history and cultural identity. I would recommend this to anyone. I will probably be buying or renting DVDs of the company's performances.

This was undoubtedly the most creative dance company that I have seen in the last ten years! Hats off to the Charleston Concert Association for bringing this talented, disciplined company to the Charleston area.
It has been years since I have seen any of Martha Graham's works, so it was thrilling to again experience the innovative comtemporary choreography for which she is known.
My hope had been that the Company's repertoire would have included excerpts from Appalachian Spring, but every offering was exciting and beautifully performed.
