I love opera even though I have only heard opera through a cd or on pbs. I bought these tickets for my father for his birthday hoping I would enjoy the live performance. I was totally blown away! The shear pageantry was amazing. We were on the second balcony even though we could not see their faces we could feel the emotions. I absolutely loved it! and we are planning our next opera experience

We loved everything about Madama Butterfly. It was emotional and beautiful. It was our first opera and we will return for more.Our 13 year old son loved it as well. We highly recommend it.

Enjoyed the music and performance. However, Act II dragged out much too long at the end - and 1/2 hour intermission was a bit much.

It was my first time to an opera and I was not disappointed. I wasn't pleased that it didn't start on time nor did the intermission end when it was supposed to; however, I suppose they add in slop time for stragglers. The music was beautiful and the set was...okay. Seriously, these singers were phenomenal, but the vessels they had to work with didn't match their talent. I guess I just expected better costumes and better makeup and a more detailed set. I will be more careful selecting the next opera I will see.

Extemely well done. Adam Diegel (Lt Pinkerton) is new to Tucson and is one of the finest tenors I have ever heard (Vienna State Opera, Salzburg Festival, Munich Opera, to name a few venues). I certainly hope he will be back.

This opera was delightful, wonderful and sad. Enjoyed it very much. The last scene could have been shorter. The stage settings were very stark...could have been much more colorful. The voices were all very rich...great singing. Good casting.

The singing was lovely, with strong voices, and the orchestra did a nice job. Unfortunately the choreography was non-existent, the singers barely moved onstage. The set and costumes were equally unexciting. I would recommend this company for their musicality, but hope they work a little harder next time to attain the magic of true opera.

the performance of the cast was so amazing in portraying each character in the story. I felt so taken in by the emotions that grasped at me that seem to leap from the stage. My eyes were fixed on the performers who gestured perfectly at every right moment and my ears were taken by the vary vibrations of perfection. I was so pleased with madama butterfly I hope soon once again to enjoy such an outstanding opera.

Both my wife and I were disappointed in the staging and sets, which were inadequate when compared to other performances of MADAMA BUTTERLFY. Nevertheless, the performers were five star. Butterfly and Pinkerton shone the brightest.

The orchester and Madama Butterfly were wonderful. Also some secondary roles were terrific. The council and the woman who performed as Butterflys servant were outstanding.

Although beautifully performed, I was left feeling somewhat emotionally void and inspired. I kept waiting, searching myself and the performance but never reached that overwhelming out poor of emotion I've received from other operas. Faust stayed with me for days but Madame was gone right after I left. I expected far more than I was given.

The orchestra, soloists, chorus, actors were superb. I was, however, a little disappointed in the set design and costuming -- I expected a more colorful presentation.

If the amount of tears is any indication of the quality then Madama Butterfly deserves an A+. The simplicity of the set allowed one to really focus on the storyline and the emotion portrayed by the performers was incredible! Jill Gardner's voice - magnificent.

Exquisite voices, interesting story. The act before intermission is a little slow to get going, but short. The rest of the performance is engrossing and extremely well done. The story comes together nicely and generates great empathy for the title character. I am not an aficionado of Opera, but I enjoyed this production.
