I liked the show, because I like the story, the songs and the music and would recommend others to see it. However, I didn't like the "minimalist" sets, it looked amateurish more like a community theater than a touring national production. I did not like the new arrangements or instrumentation on some of the songs and the two new songs were barely noticeable. As for Maroulis and Cox, the two leads, it was obvious they enjoyed playing their roles, but it is just as obvious that neither is much of an actor. As for their singing, neither has a strong enough voice for their roles, they lack depth, range, modulation, inflection and timing. This became apparent when Cox sang her duet with Teal Weeks (Emma, who has the better voice and should have been cast as Lucy). It was only when Cox sang her last song ("A New LIfe") like the original Lucy (Linda Eder) did she finally get it right. As for Maroulis, his voice isn't anywhere near the original Jekyll (Robert Cuccioli). His voice is fine for the Jekyll part but is too thin not deep or gruff enough from the Hyde part. This became very apparent in the song "Confrontation" where he must sing one line in Jekyll's voice and the next line in Hyde's voice throughout the song. He might be a very good rock singer and Cox may be a very good R & B singer but neither one of them can really sing in the "Broadway" genre.

Favorite moment: "A New Life" and Teal Weeks's singing. She easily has the best voice in the entire company. @
