I was so excited to go see David Copperfield last month. I was very disappointed when I realized that I was seeing the exact same show that I saw LAST YEAR. My fiance was with me and he enjoyed the show, as I did last year. Seeing the same show twice was not very exciting, especially when you know what's going to happen next with a trick. Mr. Copperfield needs to learn some new material and change up his show.

As a young boy, I always loved watching Copperfield TV specials. I hoped to see some newly inspired illusions, but instead it was much the same and less! I was shocked by some of the commonplace and tired magic tricks that Copperfield chose to perform. I was also very disappointed by the obvious audience plants, crude innuendos and rehearsed lines (Copperfield shared a well-written, personal story to build-up one illusion, but his delivery sounded rushed and detached).
The entertainment business is tough, and I can understand how 20 years of performances might take its toll on a performer. But I still hope to see Copperfield reinvent his act and bring new inspiration to the world of magic and illusion. I believe that he can do it.

My brother, Robert, and I saw David back in the mid 80's. He had perfected the flying illusion and watching him perform it just blew me away. Well, Robert passed away unexpectantly on May 26, 2009 at the young age of 49. His passion in life was magic so as a tirbute to what he loved best...my son, Malcolm and I went to see him perform in Durham, NC. Once again, David continues to amaze me. I am just so glad he has maintained his personal interactions with the audience as part of his show. I was blessed to be able to purchase a DVD entitled "ILLUSIONS" that was made in 2000. Now I am able to watch him at my leisure...plus it is a great DVD. Now my new goal is to hope to see him in Las Vegas when I return in the fall of next year and do a meet and greet. All I can say is the man is a legend...and after all these years he is just as fine as ever...you go David!!!

The show was good but it should it last a little longer. My parents and I enjoyed a lot David's trick and his jokes. We didn't expect Mr. Copperfield to be funny.

do yourselves a favor and DO NOT miss david copperfield next time he's in your town...all 'tricks' were mind-boggling and totally impossible to figure out...i was 13th row center and got a clear & sometimes close-up view of the whole show

As it turns out we did not get to go to this performance because my daughter had a 102 degree fever. I had previously been to one of David's shows and it was incredible. I really wanted her to see him. I gave the tickets to a friend of a friend. He and a friend thoroughly enjoyed themselves and even got to go backstage to meet David. David was incredibly generous and sent an autographed picture to Julia. She was so very excited to get it and a program. Rest assured, the next time David returns to Richmond, we will be there.

I truly believe that David Copperfield should retire. This show was more about the life and times of David Copperfield, with watching his illusions on video , to him sitting and talking about his life. I think all in all, total, he did four illusions, that were less than thrilling, ones we have all seen before, and a few in audiience tricks that he did in the 1990's. Nothing New, Nothing Exciting.
My money would have better been spent on taking my family out to dinner and a movie.

Stay Away.
I've seen his TV performance many times and was enthralled.
During this live performance, he was conceited, arrogant, obviously bored, bothered by the audience. He mumbled, showed very little energy or interest in what he was doing. He didn't even respect us enough to button his shirt. His magic was mostly chaotic and disjointed. The only cool feat was the "car" trick. But even then his rendition of a touching (and probably true) story of his grandfather was told so deadpan I almost fell asleep. Don't spend your money to see him in person. He's not interested in keeping your interest and your amazement any more. Hang up your wand, David!

My wife and I left the kids at home and started our evening off at the VIP area provide by ROC AUD Theater. Good food and free drinks. can't go wrong there... Then what can you say about Copperfield that has not already been said. Funny, exciting and dumbfounded pack into one show. To top it all off, my wife was able to go on stage for the final act with about 11 or so others, which Copperfield made them all disappear... She is still in her glory and will not tell me what happen. With a smile says "he's magic!"

David appeared to have no real enthusiasm for doing the show. Maybe he has just done it too many times. For the cost of the tickets and the length of the show it was quite disappointing.

never saw copperfield before, so was very excited. left without the excited feel. he was funny tricks were good. i expected alot more than an hour & fifteen minute show for the cost of a ticket. our seats were terrible we had a great veiw of some half bald guy his wife & two tall sons, and the sound crew sat behind us talking about random crap having nothing to do with the show. my kids enjoyed themselves didn't understand all of his humor, but they were happy at the end.

Davoid Copperfield took a break and we watched an illusion on tv! I could have stayed home and watched tv instead. The music was too loud and it was difficult to hear him speaking. I saw him 20 years ago and he was terrific, this show, however, was a disappointment.

I was very disappointed in this show. I have never seen David Copperfield and I was so excited when I bought tickets. I left the auditorium wondering why I wasted my money. First, my husband & I coud not understand anything that he was saying. This was not due to where we were sitting because we were in the 3rd row. He was mumbling the whole show. It was not at all mind blowing and I was not intriqued. For someone who is supposed to be a "Legend" I expected more. Sadly, I ws lookig forward to the end of the show.
