The dancing was just wonderful and the costumes were beautiful! My mother-in-law, my 4 year old and I went and it was a great evening!

Over all, the performance was a little routine. I was expecting a huge production and was slightly disappointed. The dancing was exceptional, however, the set and use of video during the performance was a little cheesy. I feel so much more could have been accomplished through the set, lighting and by losing the video.
Geared more toward young girls.

I planned an evening out with myself and 5 other of my girlfriends to go out to eat and see a ballet together. We were excited for the Little Mermaid ballet and think it was going to be a calming and serene ballet to attend. We were VERY surprised when the ballet started at how incredibly kiddish the ballet was. There were overemphasized voice acting and kiddy costumes on stage, and with all of the voices, conversations, and sound effects coming from the stage I found it harder to appreciate just the beauty of the music and the dancing (which is why I like going to see ballets). I didn't like that there was a lot of humor and dialogue in the show, and I felt that took away from the ballet experience for us. It felt like we were watching a play, not a ballet. And keep in mind my friends and I range from the 18 year old range to 27 years old, and every girl in my group felt incredibly too old to be sitting in that audience. I had read before going to the Little Mermaid ballet that it was a ballet for the whole family to enjoy, but in reality I would not reccommend this ballet for adults unless they're bringing their kids with them. This wasn't mature enough of a performance that I felt I could really enjoy it as an adult.

I enjoyed the Little Mermaid once it started. My daughter and I have been going to the Ballet since she was 4. She is 10 now and still loves going to the Ballet. Our favorite is Sleeping Beauty. I felt the Little Mermaid was good but it seemed to lack the beauty and professional feeling of Sleeping Beauty. The costumes were good but the set was limited and basic. I enjoyed how they worked in the technology but I was disappointed that is seemed less like Ballet Met and more local theatre.
I did not like Napoli at all. My daughter and I arrived in time to sit, catch our breath and then the lights dimmed. I had not looked at the program and I was very worried until intermission when I realized Little Mermaid was yet to come. I know Little Mermaid is a shorter production but I think by the time the Little Mermaid began much of the audience had a poor feeling based on Napoli. It was too long, little story line to follow and no sets at all.

This ballet, as other I have been able to see at Ballet Met, was unforgettable.The costumes were fantastic,as was the scenery.I will continue to get tickets for these events.

I took my 5 yr old niece to the ballet for her very first time. She loved it! The dancers were wonderful, the costumes were beautiful and the entire program was very well put together. It was enjoyable for both the children and adults. I would go many times again and recommend it to everyone!

I loved the ballet. I was expecting more of a mature crowd, but it was mostly children in the audience and the ballet was geared more towards children. Still a great show!

I went to this ballet with my 3 year old daughter, my sister and my 5 year old niece. Overall, we had a great time. My biggest complaint is that I had no idea that the first half was a different play/story/whatever all together. 'Napoli' was one of those dances where there is no plot and it is just 'watch me dance and see what I can do.' That style drives me crazy. While I can appreciate their athleticism, I wanted something more and I was counting down the minutes until that section was done. After intermission, the little mermaid finally started. It was awesome. The costumes were very nice and the flow worked well. Both my daughter and niece giggled at the crabs. They were their favorite. I really liked how the ballet ended differently than what I was used to--it was refreshing. We had a very fun time!

Maybe it is the child in me but I loved the little mermaid. The costumes were good. As usual the dancing was excellent and it was funny too. Well worth it. Also loved the initial ballet Napoli too, it reminded me of spring. Wonderful afternoon.

It takes a lot to make my 4 yr old daughter sit in one place for an extended amount of time. BalletMet has managed yet again to make that happen. The story was clear enough for her to understand while she was mesmerized with the dancing!

One of the most fun and enjoyable performance art show I have ever seen! Great costumes! Also love the interpretation of the classic story. The soundtrack was seamless with the dancers!

I didn't expect the 30 minute pre dance. I think they should have had that in the program. Intermission was before the actual show started. I was a little confused. But once the ballet started (the one I came to see). It was very good. We had excellent seats.

I loved it. This was my first ballet. Brought my husband with me and he didn't know the story so he slept through it. (at least he tried it with me). I would recommend this show to the ladies, you will love it.

I took my 11 yr old granddaughter to see Romeo and Juliet. She takes ballet lessons and I was a dance major back in college. We share this love of dance so it was so special to be able to go with her. The dancing was beautiful. I especially enjoyed Emily Gotschall's performance as Juliet. I am hoping to see more performances in the future. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Her performance was scene stealing - both the dancing and acting were excellent. I truly felt she captured a playful teenage girl/woman in love and despair. Romeo was amazing when the two were together and during the market scenes - not quite as memorable in other moments. Mercutio was fantastic. Tibalt quite believable, and the nurse was well done - strong comedic chops as were the 3 young ladies associated with Romeo and his friends. Not sure why they added the Lady Capulet Tibalt dynamic - interesting to say the least and perhaps unnecessary and Lady Capulet's grief over Tibalt's death - well let's just say she was chewing the scenery a bit much. Also felt the fingering snapping bit by Romeo and company (ala West side story) before they crashed the Capulet party was jarring - an anachronism that did not work.
