The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields is world renown for good reason. Their playing is crisp, balanced, and sonorous. Intimate and at the same time powerful, their strings filled Clowes Hall with a rich, almost buttery sound.
Julian Rachlin's solo work was exquisite and inspired. This is one of those groups all classical music lovers should hear at least once in person.
